This place must have changed hands and chef as the quality and quantity of the food has changed for the worse. We had been here 4 times over the past 2 years and always enjoyed the friendly service and generous portions of tasty food. The portion size has now shrunk to minuscule. The service was disinterest bordering on couldn't be arsed. No complimentary starters were brought - previously we were given poppadoms and dips without having to ask, this time we were brought tiny tasteless dips and one poppadoms between two of us which we had to ask for and pay for. Our lamb rogan josh and mango chicken contained very little meat, the lamb was as tough as old mutton and most of the chicken was chewy and very undercooked. The rice portion was tiny and the naan was flat and tasteless. HUGE disappointment....
Read moreSlightly disappointed with the depth of flavour in the food... The bhajis were very over flavoured with too much spice and no subtle balance... The curry gravy, no time had gone into prepare the gravy, it's supposed to be a smooth consistency however the onion hadn't been blended too good and was very chunky and bitty.... Also the flavour of the curry was very bland, it actually wasn't much different to the flavour of a base.
CTM, very sweet and no depth of flavour. Again disappointed.
The whole menu price has gone up quite a bit, which is understandable, however starting to become a little expensive for the quality of food served.
There are better Indians out there, just above average.
All the other tables got shots, we didn't 🤣
It didn't satisfy out need for a good curry so...

During my 6 months' stay I have eaten here at least 10 times; I have brought all my visitors to eat at Dawat, and everybody has loved it. Service is very kind and pleasant with good advice on the dishes (and their spiciness, which can be toned down if wanted). Personal favourites are the vegetable pakoras for starters, the lamb patya, the chilli chicken, the karahi dishes and the biryani dishes. Despite my frequent visits there are still many dishes I haven't tried though. As a Scandinavian obsessed with atmosphere I do find the lighting a bit too bright with the naked bulbs, but hey-ho, the food is so delicious that it doesn't really matter :) As soon as I am back in El Campello I will be...
