Star of India — Restaurant in el Campello

Shocking experience! Order traditional battered fish & chips for my 6 year old daughter as they had no childrens menu, in total 3 of this dish was ordered. Every fish had bones in them, which you can expect in a spanish town apparently, but to not tell me this when they new i ordered for my 6 year old is not acceptable. Even worse when i said we can not eat this & wanted it to be changed, a spanish woman came over with an English speaking waiter to speak to me...more like shout at me for sending it back. The waiter was lovely & totally understood what my issue was, but the woman expected me to pay for the 3 fish & chips as well as food we wanted in place of them. It got quite heated with this woman to the point my 6 year old daughter got frightened & my mum had to take her away as she was in tears. I kept my calm & offered to pay for the food & drink that was consumed which came to about €36 to which i offered €40 but she still said i owed €81+ as they had started to cook replacement meals! I was at this point fuming & had enough. I told them i dont want the replacement food as she had upset my 6 year old with her rediculous attitude & very raised voice. She then calmed down & the nice waiter took the €40 & appologised for our experience. I have since walked past this restaurant today & the spanish woman was there eye balling me as i walked past haha! Crazy woman....avoid. waiter was very helpful but this woman seriously need to retire as she has no people skills...

If you are in El Campello, and looking for a curry look no further than this restaurant. Very welcoming, clean establishment. From the moment we walked in the door the waitress was very friendly nothing was a problem. Four of us decided to take the menu of the day. Outstanding food, great value for money. Even though it is a menu of the day, they definitely do not reduce the portion sizes. From beginning to end the staff could not do enough for you. The curry was perfectly cooked With large quantities of meat. Even though it was the menu of the day, they were accommodating to change one or two items for me to meet my appetite. Look no further than this restaurant it is situated directly in front of the beach. The staff are so friendly and amazing to make the whole experience...

Had many meals here, always good food and service. Tonight we were served by a young waiter, ordered food after a very long wait, food arrived eventually. Asked him what the dishes contained, was very sarcastic, saying , this is a dish, that is a plate etc. After he went from the table, I realised it wasn't the food I ordered, which should have been chicken, but received prawn. The 2 waitresses were very apologetic and brought the food I ordered. This was very bland and tasteless, couldn't eat it. Then the original ignorant waiter came and asked what the problem was. He never apologised at all. It's a shame, as my family are arriving this weekend and we thought we'd take them to the restaurant, 7 of us. After tonight, will not return to...
