Wish I'd read the reviews before attempting to go here today. I can only confirm the service staff were an absolute disgrace. We had friends with us and it was their first time at Guadalest, you can imagine the impression that was left after being abused by the staff for even attempting to get a table. This is after we went inside and requested a table for four, and we were told to go outside which we did. To our horror as we attempted to sit in at an empty table we were shouted at by the waitress. We speak Spanish but would never dream of being rude back to them so just left. Do not go here.
I have now read the response from the owner, I rest my case. Can I repeat, we did read the sign, we entered the restaurant to request a table for four, we were told we had to sit outside as we were not allowing customers inside (not sure why). So we proceeded outside, now perhaps it was a mistake and we understood that too mean go outside and take a seat. Regardless a friendly "please wait" rather than being shouted out and treating us like we were stupid, may have been a better approach. Also, we were definitely not the only customers to walk away following the service staff and their behaviour. It is obvious that the owner feels the service is good and I wish you well but the reviews say it all...
Read moreLovely place to sit down for a moment and enjoy a cup of coffee joined by a tostada. Both tasted good. Big Terace and before 11 AM it's still very peaceful, definitely recommend coming before that time. First thing I did notice as we sat down is that the girls were working without passion or simply over-worked but I can't blame them with all the impolite tourists in the Costa Blanca. I wish the restaurant good luck ! Funny moment we had, though, was the look I got from the waitress when I asked for vinegar for my tostada, she didn't believe us when we told her it was actually quite tasty this way. You should try it sometime ! ;) Prices were also good and the view over the rocks and castle in the...
Read moreWe immediately knew why there were so many empty tables, because of two little spoiled brats who think they own the place. We arrived and saw two empty tables next to eachother, no reservation signs, no staff, so we respectfully moved two tables to eachother. Suddenly one of the waitresses arrived and rudefully pointed out to a sign next to the door (which we didn´t pass) which said we had to be seated by a waitress. So we stood up and waited for the waitress to return and ask for a table and she just said no and walked away. So we went up the hill and had a drink in a nice place, with a view at a nice square, being served...
