Cafetería Levante — Restaurant in el Castell de Guadalest

Poor welcome, had to seat ourselves, staff looked distinctly unhappy to us. Grumpy face on waitress and a grimacing chef popping their head out to see new arrivals - and not looking happy about it.

Took ages to even ask us for drinks orders. Ordered 2 starters (chicken wings and white bait) neither of which arrived before the mains. Service was not with a smile. White bait starter arrived when main was nearly finished. Chicken wings starter never arrived. Chased up the wings, eventually was brought some chicken nuggets. Assumed a language mix up so son ate them. Closer later inspection of the bill reveals we were charged for the wings we which never had AND for a plate of nuggets as a kids menu meal.

A few wasps and flies indoors would normally be forgivable but added to the poor grumpy service and overpriced average food - overall definitely one to miss.

A shame on our second visit to the wonderful Guadalest - thought we'd enjoy lunch out rather than take a pack up - probably a good idea if not visiting...

My husband took his mother and my daughter here for lunch today. They ordered on menu items. Every other table was given a side plate of bread and when a waitress went to serve them she was waved away by another employee so no bread for them. The food took 50 minutes to arrive and many patrons who entered after them and ordered were served within10 minutes. As a family we have visited Guadalest dozens of times and we thought we try this establishment for the first time. We will never use this establishment again and would certainly not...

Reviewing this restaurant was easy. It has a great position, at the end of the square below the castle of Guadalest. You can watch the world go past, enjoying the atmosphere. It’s not the Ritz, the tables are metal and the chairs are plastic, but the food is great (burger especial recommended), the service was great and the prices very reasonable.
