El Rincón — Restaurant in El Pinar de El Hierro

This was probably one of the best meals I ever had. The staff recommended the yellow fin tuna and it was so delicious. The tuna was medium done and very juicy. Often tuna can be very dry, but this was just perfect. Nice grilled crisp outside and inside very juicy without tasting too fishy. And the vegetables were also very delicious! I don't know what flavours and spices they added to them, but they were so delicious and also cooked perfectly so they still had bite to them and not overcooked. Getting some vegetables as a side like this is not very common on El Hierro, so this was a treat. I actually came back the next day and had what they translated to "chicken fish" and it was also very good! The prices might be a few Euros higher than other restaurants, but I really think it's a good price for what you get. And if you want to have something special this is really a treat. I actually had the yellow fin tuna at another very popular restaurant on the island and it was also good, but I really preferred this one. Jamás en mi vida he hecho una mala reseña pero este sitio ha sido una de LAS PEORES EXPERIENCIAS de mi vida. Acudo al local a almorzar y al haber pocas mesas nos ubicamos en una al sol sin sombra, por lo que para ahorrarle trabajo al camarero me dispongo a abrir la sombrilla. Llega el camarero con un caminar soberbio y tono muy desagradable diciéndonos lo siguiente: “si la sombrilla está cerrada es por algo, hace viento y se vuela ¿quien te ha dicho que abras la sombrilla?” Yo puedo llegar a entender que el camarero tiene razón ya que tiene experiencia y habrá tenido malas experiencias con la sombrilla, lo que me asombró fue las formas de tratar al cliente, con malas palabras y un tono de enfado y reproche cuando ni siquiera la sombrilla había terminado de abrirse. Tanto yo como los demás clientes hemos flipando ante la actitud del camarero. Trabajamos de cara al público desde hace muchos años, y jamas en la vida se puede hablar a así a los clientes, ni siquiera teniendo la razón. We had some lovely local food here and great local wine. The calamari ceviche was amazing and fresh and the local smoked cheese with palm honey was delicious.
