We’ve been wanting to try this place for a while now. We were told the name of it is ‘Chicken in the Dirt’, but unsure if that’s accurate. Lol Be warned though, they only take cash and a lot of locals eat here starting at 2100/2130. We were the first ones to arrive when the opened at 2000. 😂 We got 3 appetizers (shrimp garlic, cheese plate and Iberian sausage), and the shrimp is in a heavy butter garlic sauce. There was too much butter for my liking which prevented being able to taste the garlic. The cheese was delicious and the Iberian sausage was fantastic. Hardly any fat and didn’t have a strong sausage taste to it. We ordered the swordfish steak in breadcrumbs but when it came out there were no breadcrumbs and it tasted like it was pan seared. The flavor was good though. It came with fries which we didn’t really care for. Would have preferred a vegetable like potatoes or asparagus/broccoli. There are plenty of desserts to choose from and we ordered the triple chocolate cake with coffee ice cream. What was brought out was the plain chocolate cake 🤷🏼♂️ which was fine. I gave them three stars on service because we had to wait close to 20 mins to receive our check after we requested it from two different servers. I that that’s because they got super busy and only two people were working the outside area of the restaurant. The pricing is great as well as the atmosphere. I’m looking forward to trying a few more of their dishes...
Read moreWe've traveled across Andalucia and this restaurant is definitely one of the top places for food. It started off with some warm bread & butter - it's always nice to get some warm bread. The gambas with garlic where big, juicy and with a great garlicky sauce - super tasty and a big portion. Then the fish skewer is a very large portion, very tasty with nice simple veggies. The only downside of the dish is fries - they are not crunchy fries, but very soft. The desert - cheese cake made in the oven - is spectacular. The service was very nice and super fast. They were very helpful suggesting the dishes and telling us not to order more at first, as portions are big, and it was a good call, as we were stuffed by the end of the meal. I would say it's a must-visit place is you're in Puerto Santa...
Read moreCommonly known as "Chicken in the Dirt" or some form of that... other reviews across the internet indicate this has been a local favorite for decades. Nice patio seating outdoors. Did not experience the interior of the restaurant. Ate the Grouper Kebab; overall tasted very good. Would recommend the dish and restaurant as a whole. Nice to actually have fresh, thinly shredded carrots on the side instead of the usual fried, oily peppers. The included fries were very greasy... glistening with oil that you could press out the liquid with your fork, but not a detriment if you don't eat the fries! Everyone else ordered the garlic chicken and all seemed to like it as well. Very-well priced drinks (1.50 Euro each whether it was beer or...
