Chanchalay Bar — Restaurant in Estepona

Okay. I've lived in Estepona for close to a year now and I love a good burger. I'm a pretty good cook and I can make my own burger at home, but isn't it just nice to have someone else cook for you sometimes? I have my place where I like to go for burgers but lately several people have been telling me I'm wrong and that this place has the best burgers in town. Alright. I'm always happy to try a new burger. Let's give it a shot! Um. No. The patty itself was mushy. It tasted like recently thawed under water meat that had not been given the chance to dry out was simply thrown on the grill. I expect my hamburger to be one piece of meat, not a gooey mess falling apart on my plate.

In addition, there was a large coin sized piece of blue plastic stuck to my bun. Now, I'm a generous person and a very adventurous eater. At first I thought maybe I was wrong. Maybe this was part of the burger and just something I had never seen. I tried it. Nope. It was plastic.

No one asked how my meal was so I couldn't mention any of these things. In fact when I was long ready to go I finally got up, walked to the front, and asked for my check.

The food here is really good quality & excellent value.

The hamburgers are great as are the salads.

My favourite burger is the Sudestada.

The goat’s cheese salad is wonderful - the best around in my opinion.

PS. The milanesa are really good too!!

July 2024. Another wonderful Milanesa. Chose to come today as yesterday was too hot for food in general & it would had been a waste. Today it’s slightly cooler so worth the wait.

Comida de muy alta calidad, servicio muy bueno y rapido y tienen un lindo patio detras. Las empanadas saben muy caseras y las hamburguesas son las mejores que hay en la costa del sol!

Beautiful venue, warm and friendly service and the food is just incredible. Definitely a must try if you're heading to Estepona. The burgers are light and delicious and don't leave you with a heavy feeling afterwards and they also have a great selection of Argentinian tapas and snacks. Cocktails are great too!
