Oh wow!!! What a great discovery... both in terms of finding out about this place and also as an adventure in locally-sourced, fresh and deliciously prepared ingredients! Robin made us feel SO welcome for our first visit and Lisa serving us was a real delight. It was a cool and quiet retreat from the heat and bustle of the day yet I imagine there is such a vibrant buzz in the evenings. We started lunch with scallops which were cooked to perfection on a gorgeous sauce with micro-greens and with tiny cubes of celeriac as a nod to the change in seasons. Smart! Then.. a beautiful fillet of turbot freshly caught that morning served on a perfectly made hollandaise sauce (I heard the whisk going!) with asparagus and punchy chanterelle mushrooms. It really was faultless cookery and so light yet satisfying. My husband selected the tuna fillet on chorizo ratatouille....beautifully seared fish and such a tasty and colourful dish. Before leaving I had already recommended Ikan to friends who arrive next week! I can't recommend this venue enough...we absolutely LOVED it....and it wasn't over-priced for the quality of the food and the friendly atmosphere. Don't tell everyone! I want to be able to get a table...

We recently visited Ikan Farm-to-Table, now located at its very own premises, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience! Unlike the previous location at the Mercado, Ikan now boasts a dedicated space with easy parking and its own team of attentive staff. This change has elevated the dining experience considerably, making past reviews about the Mercado’s service irrelevant.
For just €22, we enjoyed a delightful lunch that was exceptional value for money. The menu features fresh, seasonal produce, and every dish is prepared with care. Chef Robin works magic in the kitchen, with all sauces made à la minute, adding an extra touch of freshness and flavor.
We started with Gambas in a garlic and parsley beurre blanc—absolutely divine. For the main course, we had perfectly cooked sea bass on a bed of kale with a hint of miso. The combination of flavors was balanced and creative, showcasing the chef’s expertise.
If you’re looking for a spot that blends quality, creativity, and value, Ikan Farm-to-Table is a must-visit. Their new location marks a fresh chapter, and it’s clear they’ve raised the bar. Highly...
Read moreExcellent food , a level above the fare served by most other Estepona restaurants.
The inventiveness of the cuisine and quality of ingredients/ presentation was second to none.
The grey shrimp croquettes and mussels were as good as in Belgium.
However this was let down badly by indifferent service - very casual and uninspiring.
The locale itself could be good.
The experience was marred not only by the indifferent (at best) service but also by having piped music at a reasonable volume which was interrupted frequently - felt like every 10 minutes - by a very loud advert. Surely they can afford to have a Spotify license .
For the sort of food I would have expected service and attention to match.
Wine list was very average - with little explanation and knowledge.
Seems like the venue is run by one entity and that the individual chefs have their own little bit.
The chef and his wife were charming - and I suspect that if they were in charge they would offer a top notch experience. But sadly they’re not, and an experience is only as good as the...
