Mínim Gastrobar Portocolom — Restaurant in Felanitx

We stumbled upon Mínim Gastrobar for lunch on a recent Monday quite by accident - but we’re glad we did. Everything from service, to our entres, to the value was first rate. We were greeted as we stepped onto the covered patio by the owner/hostess, who was delightful and attentive throughout the meal. My wife had grilled Lubina (seabass) with grilled vegetables, and I had grilled gambas (shrimp). Everything was cooked perfectly “en su punto”. In fact, I’d go so far as to say the grilled, extra large shrimps were the best I’ve had anywhere, including freshly caught and home cooked.

This restaurant goes out of its way to ensure a safe, tasty, and enjoyable dining experience. As an added benefit, the restrooms are immaculate.

This restaurant only opened its doors and kitchen to the public in June. We truly hope it can weather the decreased volume due to COVID-19, and build a client base worthy of the quality it dishes up from its kitchen. In fact, we are returning to Portocolom in ~2 weeks, and we...

I must admit we didn't have much choice of restaurant as we came out of season, but paying 70€ for this is ... overwhelming. A tomato avocado salad without the avocados and far too many strawberries A revisited fish and chips with spinach that we looked for ... with a pistachio (or something greenish for what it’s worth) and a creme sauce that totally took away the taste of the mallorcan fish Not to mention a very bitter grey something hidden under the fish...

The fries are actually overcooked slices of potato that you break your teeth on and are far too salty ...

The best is the cheese platter at 16€ where you are charged 1,20€ to add few pieces of frozen bread ... for a cheese platter!

We were here for dinner and do have to say that the cocktails as well as food was quite sub-par. We ordered the tequila sunrise and strawberry mojito and they both were not good. Instead of strawberry mojito, they brought normal mojito. A few things that stood out were probably the Patatas Bravas, Gyoza and the charcoal grilled artichoke but otherwise the varied croquettes, charcoal grilled scallops and charcoal grilled bacon and prawn rolls were okay. The scallops had a very funny taste which I didn’t enjoy at all. Perhaps the biggest fail was the Iberian Steak because it looked quite poor in terms of presentation and the quantity. Also, it was not very hot when served which was such a shame. However, when we asked if they could cook the meat in the beef hamburger a bit more, they were happy to do so.
