Restaurante Tira do Cordel — Restaurant in Fisterra

I had a wonderful dining experience at Tira do Cordel, a restaurant that earned MICHELIN recognition in both 2024 and 2025. It opens at 9:00 PM, and on Saturday there was no wait (although I did make a reservation earlier in the day, in-person).

My server, Carolina (Caroline), was attentive, professional, and incredibly helpful. Although yo estuvo hablo español (un poquito), she kindly translated some words into English for me when I wasn’t sure. We also discovered she had walked the Camino herself, and it was special to share pelegrino stories together.

I tried the Galician delicacy percebes (goose barnacles) for the first time and learned both the history behind them and the proper way to open them. They were muy deliciosos and the whole experience was muy bien.

A unique highlight is that when you choose your entrée, they bring the seafood out in its raw form to show you exactly what you’ll be eating. The portions are muy grande, and everything tasted incredibly fresh.

The ambiance was lovely — I sat in the indoor patio area overlooking the beach, which made the evening even more memorable.

Overall, between the setting, the food, and the hospitality, I would definitely come back here again. Muchas gracias,...

Hay sitios a los que vas a comer donde por su categoría y por el precio que vas a pagar, solo faltaría que la comida no estuviese buena... Pues este es un claro ejemplo. Obviamente la comida es fresca y está buena, olé por el cocinero, pero nada más La primera "anécdota" La reserva la hice por la mañana para ir a cenar y a las 18:33, recibido un wsp con unos menús, lo primero que pensé es que alguien estaría preparando una reunión o cualquier otra cosa y que había pedido presupuesto en algún restaurante, ya que no venía el nombre por ningún lado, y por error me mandaron a mi esa información, a lo cual, respondo educadamente diciendo que me había llegado ese Whatsapp por error, más que nada, para que se la enviasen al que se la había pedido, ante lo cual, no recibo ninguna respuesta.... A las 21:30 me presento en el restaurante y tras sentarme (al de un rato) viene el camarero para tomarme nota ante lo cual le digo que no tengo carta, entoces me pide mi teléfono y me envía unas fotos del menú.... Siiii, las que alguien me había enviado por la tarde... (Pero desde otro móvil) Las fotos de la carta!!!... No sería más lógico que me "invitaran" a consultar su web? (Con un QR, indicando la URL, bueno, que yo voy a comer, no tengo porqué ir diciendo mí teléfono en mitad de un comedor lleno de gente... Pues bien, una vez que elijo y pido, mando un wsp al primer teléfono, diciendo "ahora entiendo lo del Whatsapp"... Y la misma respuesta que por la tarde.... El menú que yo elegí fue 1/2 ración de navajas 1/2 ración de almejas marinera 1 sargo (poqueño) 1 ración tarta de queso 1 cerveza 1 agua 1 café 1 pan He de decir que todo estaba bueno y que el precio del sargo estaba en la carta a 40€/kg, el mío no llegaba a 500gr ni de lejos, pero me cobraron 20€. Total 48€.... De todos modos el problema no es ese, como dije antes, en este tipo de locales, esperas más. Quieres una atención mucho más profesional. Tuve que levantarme yo a buscar el pan ya que nadie me lo traía. La cerveza no me preguntaron la que quería o si quería caña o botella. Me atendieron 4 camareros, el más mayor, bien, nada que decir (aunque fue el que trajo la cerveza que le dio la gana) el más joven con chaqueta negra, no te mira, va en plan "malote" el bajito, te mira y no sabes si te va a tomar nota, o te va a dar un cabezazo y el otro (también joven) que salió de la cocina, bueno... hace lo que puede. En resumen, que por ese precio, estoy seguro que hay mejores restaurantes en Finisterre. Al marcharme había dos camareros en la barra, le dije buenas noches a lo que uno de ellos ni contestó y el otro, simplemente respondió, si no digo nada ellos tampoco. This place is recommended in Michelin guide and it was the most disappointing experience in our trip to Galicia. Zamburiñas looked not good on the plate and they tasted not fresh. We had to return them to the kitchen (we were not charged for this dish). The fish was ok, but we did not find it so special as in all online reviews and we had a much better experience in other places in Galicia. We did not like the ambience neither, the place was crowded, next to us there was a VERY loud family with small kids that were shouting all the time. Parents started to take them outside to try to calm them down, but pointing them to the windows to entertain the rest of the family. I do not know how this place got recommended by Michelin guide, it is a regular tourist place, very crowded during lunch, with average to poor quality of food. I will not recommend it to any of my friends...
