Chiringuito Oasis Fuengirola — Restaurant in Fuengirola

There were 4 of us. The Chiringuito is a lovely modern and spacious bright place on the beach. Our main sever came to us and showed us the biggest Langoustines we have ever seen and 3 of us chose to have 2 each for mains. The price would depend on the weight while the fourth chose steak. 3 of us had Gazpacho which was very good. One had the prawns with avocado which was lovely. My wife and I had arrived after the other two who were having a glass of wine each when we arrived. . Although we had been chatting before we ordered and were now waiting for the food no one had asked the two of us what we wanted to drink. I had tried to order a few times but couldn’t get any attention. Eventually I asked for a beer and water for my wife. After maybe 8 or 10 minutes there was no beer. I asked again and the waiter looked at the table and looked puzzled and then brought it. The starters and cleared when we finished. The waiter had told us that “nothing” came with the langoustines so three of us had ordered vegetables and potatoes with the langoustines and the waiter said he wailed bring a platter for the centre of the table. The fourth person had ordered a sauce with his steak. The mains arrived with no veg, potato or sauce. We waited thinking they would come but eventually asked again and after asking two different waiters we were to “it’s coming”. We had the same problem with the sauce. We had started eating as we wanted our food hot. I asked a waiter for Salt and pepper. He went to where I knew the salt and pepper was kept. After another few minutes I looked for him and he was nowhere to be seen. Eventually I saw him again and asked him. Thee was no apology but I got them this time. Eventually the sauce and vegetables arrived. There were 4 slices of potato on the platter approx one half of one potato!! The mix of vegetables had been minced and were thinner than the thinnest rice noodles I’ve seen. In addition, there was approximately a dessertspoonful in total and each of the three of us got a teaspoonful. My friend with the steak was very happy with what his steak and fries. We ordered dessert because we were still hungry. I ordered a jug of sangria and a waiter came and put a glass of sangria on the table and disappeared before I could stop him. Another glass of wine and another glass of sangria were also ordered. When our bill arrived it was just about €360. I forget exactly how much but more than €350. The device was chaotic at all times we spent most of out time there trying to get service for things that should arrive automatically. The idea of serving the mains when the sides had not even been cooked was unbelievable. At all times we found that staff were not listening as they always seemed to be looking and other tables when we were talking to them. I would emphasise that we arrived before the place got busy and there were plenty of empty seats. Also the idea of serving something as expensive as the langoustine with NOTHING else on the plate. Not even a leaf of lettuce, a dribble of sauce or sprig of parsley suggests that this place is only interested in the profits. The basic food was of high quality but the presentation , service and price were all unacceptable. Sorry for the long diatribe but I thought this...

If it would be possible i wouuld give 0 stars. The service here is unacceptable. In the morning we arrived around 10 and wanted to take 2 sunbeds, but before that we wanted to have 2 coffies on the teracce chairs(it was raining few drops of rain). The shift manager told that right nof terrace is closed and they service only sunbeds. Okey we sat on the sunbeds the rain was also over .saga continiues at lunch time . We went yo eat on the terrace . Sat down behind empty table for two. Waiter came and asked if we had a reservation. We told that we do not have and that in the morning when we arrived nobody also told us that we should do that . Waiter said that sorry but you have to leave because all the tables are booked and they are full( only 3 tables where occupyed by people and the rest 20+tables where emty. We went back to our sunbeds feeling frustrated. After approx. 30 min waiter came to us and told that now they have 1 free table for us . As we have been to the beach ober 6 hours and we where hungry we went to eat . We ordered chiken salat and Entercot. Waiter brought salat to the table and we had to wait the entercot for another 10 minutes . The food was good and the prices are also okey , but the overall management and service needs to be approved.

I have 2 suggestions :

The guy who sells sunbeds should inform that if you want to have lunch you should reserv a table for it .

Servicing a table should be done by 1 waiter . Our order vas taken by 1 , drinks where brought by another and food order was taken by third. This causes too much problems .

Dear Owner of the Oasis.

It's really sad how you did not tell the full truth about the reservation. It's also really obvious that your pride was wounded by your response to the bill charging us for the knives and forks. Es muy obvio that you are not a professional business man, but just another bill collector.

The reservation was made for 8 with an arrival time at your business at 2pm.

Please note when the reservation was made with Oasis, it was agreed that some will arrive at 2pm and 3pm. Oasis agreed to this.

Please note as agreed some arrived early and late

The bill should have been under one bill because it was one reservation. Even if it were two tables.

But for some reason without informing us that the bill will be split between 2 tables you took it upon yourself to charge that. I think how you acted has a deeper meaning and reason to what happened yesterday.

But a real professional would have approached our table and say, we have to charge you for the tools to eat our sad veggie salad. But again bill collectors are not aware of good customer service.

We told the waiter we would like to pay the bill, but he never came back. I had to go to the bar after waiting about 15 minutes. Que triste de verdad!!!

I look forward to your disrespectful response. I hope there will be truth in your reply. If possible show us a legal document showing that it's mandatory to charge for knives and forks whenever you feel like.
