Kamura Sushi — Restaurant in Fuengirola

We had a basic sushi lunch encouraged by all of the Google reviews. Once again they were bang on.

This is a small, hole-in-the wall place low on aesthetics but high on quality! There is a small sushi bar and about 4 to 5 small tables for two.

We enjoyed a light lunch as follows:

We arrived early before the restaurant opened at 1 pm. We sat in chairs outside to wait. At 1250 an employee came out to let us know they open at 1pm and asked us if we were going to eat or just do drinks. We let her know we would be having lunch and she asked if it was ok if we waited ten minutes till they opened...great first impression I must say. She was very concerned about us.

In any event, we waited and the restaurant opened up on time and we sat in some high chairs. As mentioned it's not big on aesthetics however adequate.

We started with Edamame which arrived nice and hot and nicely salted. Perfectly al dente and tasty.

Next my wife had Unagi maki and I enjoyed spicy tuna rolls and two Tuna Nigri. The colour of the tuna was a deep deep red.

The ingredients were marvelously fresh and seasoned just right. The rice was also prepared and still had residual heat.

Staff were friendly and helpful.

When we came, we were the only one customers and the only other people that came was a couple waiting for a take away food. There was a promotion 2 Nibiru + tempura de vegetables + drink for about 5 Euro, so we ordered two of it. When the waiter brought us the sticks and soy sauce bowl, it was dirty. She wasn't coming around until the food was ready so when she came with it, We asked her to change for us the dirty things. It took her more than 5 minutes to do It and we were sitting in front of our food unable to eat. When she finally came, we ordered more food (2 nigiri +8 urumaki). The promo set was really tasty though. But for the next food, with only one other couple waiting for it as well, We waited for more than half an hour. It was a terrible customer experience to wait for so little food in an almost empty restaurant for so long. And it took us 3 minutes to eat It after we got it. So the whole visit lasted for more than an hour, What shouldn't be the case at all.

Dont get me wrong. The sushi was really great and I highly recommend it. But there is so many other good sushi places around that are way faster than that, that i don't think I will be coming back. What would happen if the restaurant is full? Wait for over an...

Chef and sushi master Shinji Nakamura puts all his skills and experience into his traditional style Japanese dishes. Even the simplest preparations are executed with case and attention to detail, watching him across the bar, I could sense a certain mysticism from every preparation. The food was absolutely delicious, I do recommend the Sashimi (salmon is my preferred choice) and the Kamura roll, a very unique approach to classic tempura rolls that is to me a game changer.
