Unfortunately, our visit to Restaurante El Higuerón was not a pleasant experience. The restaurant's decor and atmosphere were appealing, and the potential was clearly there. However, our evening was ruined by several unfortunate incidents.

We ordered a dish with medium-rare meat, but the served meat was far from cooked as requested. After pointing this out, we were offered new steaks, but instead handed a hot stone to cook the meat ourselves, which was unexpected and not in line with our desires.

Unfortunately, the situation escalated when we complained again about the poor quality of the meat. The waiter responded rudely, claiming the meat was cooked correctly, which we couldn't accept. Our attempt to end the visit without paying for an unsatisfactory experience unfortunately led to an unpleasant confrontation. The waiter chose to become physically aggressive, precisely hitting me in the face, resulting in a threatening situation that, with our natural reaction of anger and outrage, forced us to leave the premises.

It's regrettable to report such negative experiences, as the restaurant otherwise seemed promising. I hope the management will consider improving their service and ensuring better food quality to ensure that future guests can enjoy a pleasant and cozy evening at the establishment without the risk of violence.

Unfortunately, it didn't end that way for us....

Service top class, very friendly, and the reason for the 3 stars... FOOD... Well the bread was really good, and olives tastful.... The version of enselada rusa, the taste was not bad, but didn't really look appealing.. The Tuna tatar.. If i order a tatar, I kind of want to tast the tuna, not have it mixed with strong spices, But it did not taste bad.. Just not what I expected.. Anyway, the startes could still have gotten 4 stars.... But.... when you have an extra little card with the kitchens suggestions, and one of the items is out, even your one of the first guests, You expect it to be fresh.... Having Tuna from yesterday or the day before, just don't cut it, in a restaurant like this, and as a days suggestion.... If was half cold, overcooked and gray meet.. undercooked potatos and nothing more... Solomillo, again with seasoned with strange spices.... a bit overcooked, but luckily my wife didn't care... Wines were good, good selection, some a bit over the top price wise, but again we're supposed to be in a top class restaurant with higher overheads.. So we could live with that...

Summa summarum... If it haddent been for the service, Bread and olives, It would have been different to give one...

Food was amazing, and our server Jose was brilliant!! Couldn’t fault him! However we were very disappointed because we had booked this meal a week in advance and requested a table with a view as we were celebrating our friends engagement. Which on email they said they would make a note for us. On arrival we were told the terrace is shut which is fine, indoors is fine. We were put on a table at the back (not with the view) which we were a bit disappointed by but just asked if we could move to the window when one became free. During the first ten mins, one became free so we asked to move and the female manager said no. During our meal 3 tables became free and we weren’t allowed to move. Those tables stayed empty the entire time we were there and we left after 11pm, they had previously told us there was reservations there so we couldn’t move which clearly wasn’t true. Felt a bit like our booking didn’t matter to them, but it was a big big deal and special meal to us. Everything else was great, just the way the...

Very poor. It used to be a restaurant of some fame and had decided to try it again. Front door was blocked and it required an awkward walk down to take the elevator up to access the restaurant. Reception was reasonable though I was seated away from the view even though the restaurant was mostly empty. I decided on the croquetas de Gambas Pil Pil and the entrecôte. The croquetas were an insipid mass similar to frozen store bought potato versions. No shrimp or charred garlic flavour to evoke Spain’s Gambas al Pil Pil classic. The entrecôte, after a long wait, arrived cold and stringy/tough. No flavour short of the salt liberally strewn on it. The French fries tasted soapy of old old and the few pimentos de Padrón lacked crunch. The waiter never asked about the food or why I left 3/4s of it. Did not suggest desert nor coffee. I paid my €55, single customer, no alcoholic drink, just coke. Way way overpriced for less than stellar food. Any chiringuito along te coast will better this for €20 or less

It's mixed experience about this restaurant. The food was no doubt excellent, proper gourmet restaurant. But we couldn't book it in advance because their website ( supposedly Spanish/English) kept returning to the Spanish so we came early to make sure we can get the table and spent a couple hours in the bar. Here's another thing - as the bar is in the inside room you're missing all that beautiful sunset view and it's really breathtaking from there ( you can still walk to the panoramic window to take a picture). My husband's veal steak was to die for, so delicious. And I had a spider crab moose ( very good) and decided to try their famous Fabada ( the half of it us more than enough as it's very filling). It's nice but I would say you need a good stomach to digest it, I could afford only a few spoons. Don't miss their deserts, especially the Chocolate Bar ( enough for 2 people at least)). Would definitely recommend this place
