A very positive first for us in Spain.
We went to the restaurant as a recommendation from another (Tap y Thai) restaurant we visited for lunch.
There is a good range of food available. As a salad we ordered a goats cheese salad and it was the best we have had in Spain!!! Be warned if you aren’t into too many sweet flavours (like us) you can ask for the sauce to be on the side. Comes with honey, balsamic and berry compote. It really worked well for us as we can control how of much of each to use individually and the portion was a very good size.
As a starter we had beef carpaccio again wonderfully pleasant and tasted fresh.
My husband had the Lebanese style chicken shish (seen as half eaten in the photos). It was moist and good cooked well. The only improvement would be for it to have hand cut home made chips.
Now the steak, it was cooked as I asked, rare but because the meat lacked any fat it didn’t have any flavour and felt dry. They immediately changed the meal!!! Very common in the UK but a first for us in Spain. They actually cared that I enjoyed my meal. They brought me new one (learnt my lesson from before) and showed me the cut before cooking it. Unfortunately it came out the same as the first but again it’s due to the cut of the meat. I couldn’t enjoy it but my husband swept it up. :)
Can’t comment on drinks as we only had still and sparkling water.
The whole meal 4 courses and water came to about €78. Due to the customer service they get a 5 star!!!! It’s definitely worth a...
Read moreWe recently dined at this establishment and had a mixed experience worth sharing. For starters, we ordered Fatayer Espinacas and Fatayer de Queso, both of which were small pies bursting with flavor and made for a delightful beginning to our meal. Unfortunately, there was a minor hiccup with our order, as a portion of Labne that we were looking forward to trying was forgotten. We had to request it again, but when it arrived, it did not disappoint in taste. For our main courses, the Salmon relleno stood out as a highlight, excellently prepared and flavorful, truly showcasing the chef's skill. However, the Calamares fritos estilo andaluz did not meet our expectations. It was essentially just deep-fried squid, similar to what you might find in many other restaurants, lacking the unique touch we were hoping for in a dish described with such a distinct regional style. The ambiance of the place was pleasant, contributing to an overall nice dining experience. Despite the mixed feelings about some of the dishes, the quality of the starters and the main highlight, the Salmon relleno, makes us optimistic about returning. It's a place with potential, especially if they can bring all their dishes up to the standard of their...
Read moreWe usually stop here for coffee as the setting is relaxing facing a little piazza. Last weekend we decided to try Merryland for an evening meal and we are so pleased that we did! The restaurant is cosy with a nice friendly feel and the food… out of this world. The wine was of good quality and very reasonably priced. The waiter Matthew recommend the pork skewer which was succulent and nicely presented over baby roast potatoes and crispy roasted peppers. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy, up there with the best that I have eaten in the many years spent on the Costa. Portions are ample so we were glad that we didn’t have a starter. Thank you for a very nice evening. We look forward to seeing...
