Tasca Restaurante Los Pinos — Restaurant in Garachico

Google states that the restaurant opens at 12:30, the doors opened at 12:30 indeed but we were told to leave and come back in 30min. Asked if we could sit at the table and order drinks to start with - the answer was a no. Came back at 1pm, got a table inside. The tables was full of crumbs. Finally the waiter came to our table to tell us that 3 dishes from the menu are not available. Ok, not a big problem. We then ordered drinks with another waiter and also asked for a special menu board. They only had one and took it from table to a table. 10 min later - still no drinks and no special board menu. Called the first waiter who said we were getting the special menu board after the French family who arrived before us (fair enough) only to find out the board already went to a Spanish family. Lack of service, no attention to the table despite the fact we had 2 very hungry kids with us (very well behaved drawing at our table). We just got up and left. Terrible...

My family visited this restaurant for evening meal today. After studying the menu, we decided to choose food from a board that, unlike the menu, did not show prices:??? 1.) Octopus grilled: After we only got a single small octopus one leg under this name in the previous restaurant, this time we got a huge portion. This tasted delicious but the price was unexpected. 2.) Goat meat: Good very delicious , but relatively expensive at around €17- almost twice as expensive as the dishes we had previously seen on the menu. Certainly a good restaurant with a pleasant old style atmosphere. Based on our experience, however, we recommend but very BE CAREFUL with menu prices clarifying the type and price of dishes outside the regular menu...

We came to los pinos based on the atmosphere and reading good reviews. Did not disappoint!! The food was excellent (particularly the octopus and shrimp boiled in mojo which was unbelievable). Great value for money - for 2 people we had 6 dishes and 1.5 litres of wine which came to 48 euros. Really lovely staff and a cat who came to sit on our lap at the end of the meal. We were so sad to find out they are closed on Fridays and Saturdays as we wanted to go back again!

We had: Cuttle fish (chopitos) Pardon peppers Potatoes (papas arrugadas) Sweet potato & cod Octopus & shrimps boiled in mojo

Everything was really delicious and would recommend all dishes/want to try...
