We’ve eaten here twice so far in our month of March 2023 on Tenerife, and we love it! One late afternoon, after swimming at Playa San Juan, which we also love, we both had grilled sardines and papas arrugadas, the Canarian classic, which we eat often when in the Canaries. Sometimes that meal is incredible, sometimes average, and sometimes awful (beware the tourist traps that use old, frozen sardines and serve cheap, weirdly flavored mojo.). The sardines at Brisa Marina were very fresh, grilled perfectly for crunch and crispness on the outside and moistness and a clean taste on the inside. A few nights later we ordered a seafood paella to take away, and it was excellent! It had a fresh and plentiful mix of prawns, calamari, mussels, fish, and more, and it was nicely spiced to complement the seafood. And the rice was perfectly cooked, just a touch al dente. It smelled so great in the car on the way home, we almost had to stop and taste it. The portion was large, and we ate and enjoyed it all, once home. In addition to good food here, the waitstaff are incredibly friendly, helpful and upbeat. 5...
Read moreOn a Sunday afternoon when most of the town was closed, we came across Brisa Marina Taberna Marinera as we strolled down the road. We walked further down the street and looked at few other restaurants that were open and their menus. None seemed as busy or the menus as delectable as this. This is a casual place with seriously good food. We ordered fried tiny sardines, the shrimp and the whole fish. Every order was lip smacking good, makes you wonder where are the seafood places like this in US. I had to consciously hold myself back from re-ordering the Sangria, for the fear of getting drunk on an afternoon. The vegetable bowl we ordered was not bad either. While the water views were top-notch. The staff was busy and serving food in earnest (they knew they were serving one of a kind seafood). Makes you wonder why is this place not a bigger sensation. Our attempts at communicating with our waiter was a bit difficult due to our handicap with Spanish but were able to get the key words across. It is well worth visiting Playa San Juan just...
Read moreNot impresive, should be better. I took scampi which were without any taste and I was sick after. I will not eat scampi for weeks now after that experience. Salad my friends took was also without any preparation, sauce, anything. They just gave us plate with sauces in plastik cubes and among them some was....used by other clients,do not especially nice. Additinally instead of canarian patatoes x2 they gave us doubled fries. But because we didn't see each other for a long time we tried to have nice evening. But the meal wasn't good at all in comparison of the restaurant with always fresh fish they preparing after you choose them, just round the corner. We know and adoreit ,but as usuall there were no free tables that evening. Broda Marina wasn't a good idea. They deserve...
