The only pasta I ever eat in a restaurant is spaghetti alla vongole or spaghetti alio e olio. This is because as a chef I know that these 2 dishes, although simple, are very difficult to cook to a good standard. The spaghetti alla vongole at La Cremeria was excellent. Quite often, pasta in restaurants is part cooked and then reheated but this spaghetti was cooked to order. Non ho avuto modo di consumare, i proprietari sono stati molto arroganti e ineducati ancora prima di sederci! Un’amica del nostro gruppo aveva gentilmente chiesto la toilette, ma prima di entrare, ci è stato detto che per una pipì, volevano almeno una consumazione! Nessun problema a farlo, speravamo in una buona colazione come inizio di giornata, ma si scopre, che il suddetto locale, non era attrezzato per le colazioni; solo caffè o acqua ci dissero, nonostante fuori fossero pubblicizzati cremeria e gelati. Nell’attesa dell’amica che stava in bagno, si discuteva tra noi, se consumare un caffè o meno, vista l’imposizione, ma non avendo tanto da scegliere, decidemmo di evitare. I proprietari, notando la nostra incertezza, iniziarono ad insultarci, con toni abbastanza accesi, definendoci maleducati, sostenevano che gli italiani rovinano l’isola di Tenerife! L’assurdo era, che anche loro erano italiani e per noi, c’era solo da vergognarsi per il loro comportamento… Ci siamo limitati a non rispondere, evitando di scendere ai loro livelli! We love this little cosy restaurant, the pasta is So! So! good and the pizza and everything is So! good. Our friends from Iceland are dreaming about the best pasta that they had there in november. We are so lucky that the restaurant is on the corner where we live so we go there regulary and if they are full then we can have a take away.
