We have been in an apartment in Playa San Juan, on holiday, for just under a week. The apartment is a good base as we hired a car and can get to various parts of the coast. Plays San Juan is quite nice on the sea front and they have obviously got some funding to tidy up the promenade. The beach is typical of the area being of black sand (not imported) and can be quite pebbly and absorbs the sun so it can hurt your feet. Away from the sea front the place is quite shabby and the depression in Spain has still halted a lot of building work. A lot of buildings and apartments are still only made of breeze blocks and not rendered, making them quite...

Nice place for a walk with the family. There is the good recently refurbished pathway with the great views. We really enjoyed it. The town also has the beach, some nice restaurants in there with the fresh seafood as the port is just across the road. We have our favourite places in Playa San Juan. There is the open market every wednesday, where you can buy fruits, vegetables and flowers grown locally in Tenerife by local private farmers. Everything has the reasonable price. There are also available different kinds of homemade bread, honey, soaps and many...

Love this beach it's a little gem, the kids love coming here as it's never that busy we have lunch and drinks at the beach front bar then wall along the harbour for home made icecreams. Note there are pebbles on the beach in one long stretch about two meters back from the water's edge and only a meter to two in places deep the rest of the beach in soft black sand. It's cheap too for two sun beds and umbrella...
