We stumbled upon La Bodeguita in Playa San Juan by chance when our original plan to dine at Agua y Sal didn’t work out—it was closed. Despite having done no prior research, we decided to give this restaurant a try, and it turned out to be an excellent choice.
The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, even though the restaurant was quite busy (likely because neighboring spots were closed). The father-and-son duo running the place were absolutely fantastic—friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about their food and hospitality.
The shrimp, calamari, fried peppers, and fish cakes were fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The sangria and Aperol Spritz complemented the meal beautifully, adding to the overall dining experience.
What really stood out was the warm and personal touch they provided. They frequently checked in to ensure we had everything we needed, making us feel valued as guests. Everyone around us looked equally delighted, and it was clear that the place had a way of spreading joy among its diners.
La Bodeguita wasn’t just about great food; it was about an experience. We left feeling completely satisfied and grateful for the hospitality. If you’re in Playa San Juan, this is a gem you won’t want to miss....
Read moreService was pretty imperfect. We selected the place based on good reviews, but almost walked on when we got there and the waiter hardly wanted to notice us even though we standad in front of him checking the pictures about the food. Then we finally got a table, and drinks. We waited for the menu, but needed to ask for it. Then we ordered, which the waiter didn't write down. Of course he forgot two items. I noticed him about it when items stopped coming out of the kitchen. The Canadian potatoes arrived soon after, but they run out of padron pepper(the other item missing from the order). He never asked on his own whether we need anything else or maybe another drink. We also saw a woman guest walking in with an empty beer glass that she wants another one but waited too long to be noticed. We also saw a group of guests sitting down and leaving soon while the waiter was still next to them. We didn't understand that situation though. The food wasn't good enough to compensate the bad service. I am really sorry but for us this experience worth 3...
Read moreAbsolutely fantastic dining experience! Despite not being locals, the owners serve some of the best authentic Canarian dishes and tapas on the island, alongside delicious Ukrainian specialties—yes, that's where they are from. We tried almost everything on the menu—from papas fritas and croquetas to burgers, borscht, and pelmeni—and were blown away by the quality and taste of the food. We stumbled upon this gem almost accidentally at the beginning of our holiday and loved it so much that it was the only place we visited twice during our two-week stay in Tenerife, despite being 20 km from where we stayed. We spent our last evening there and will definitely return on our next visit to the island. The restaurant is run by a very friendly and hospitable family, adding to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. A big thank you to Vadim and his entire family for their wonderful hospitality and superb food. Highly...
