We went there twice today-- once for lunch and again for dinner. We ordered the set menu which was very good value. The food was well cooked and well seasoned and the portions were enormous. The seafood soup came with a heap of prawns, muscles, and squid, and the lentil soup was hearty with chunks of meat and vegetables in it. The cabrito (roast kid) was very flavourful, and the flan was the best I'd tasted so far.
Dinner was a selection of raciones. All were done well. The surprise of the night was the tripe, which was delicious and did not smell at all like, well, tripe. What really made the experience special, however, was the warmth of the proprietor and the staff. After 1 visit, we were welcomed and treated like old friends. The proprietor helped us order and recommended the local and house specialties (he did not lead us astray). Our waiter spoke quite a bit of English and was very kind to us. Apetecían hoy los primeros de cuchara sin duda.
4️⃣ Ternasco con patatas puro sabor en todo su conjunto 🔝 5️⃣ Pollo relleno con bacon y queso en salsa de oporto, suave y rico. 6️⃣ Postres caseros, natillas, tarta de queso y pudín de chocolate. La tarta de queso quemada en su base y falta de sabor a queso no era su día.
Todo ello con agua, vino, gaseosa y café incluido.
Buena relación calidad precio con sabores y mano tradicional en cocina.
