Just after Christmas, we found ourselves in the warm embrace of El Chile Habanero, and let me tell you, the wait was worth every second. My first encounter with this gem was just before lockdown, a solo expedition prompted by a craving for Mexican flavors. As fate would have it, I stumbled upon El Chile Habanero, nestled conveniently near my hotel.

Even in the cold, patrons eagerly stood outside, eagerly waiting for their turn to experience the magic within. When I, a lone wanderer, inquired about a table, they graciously suggested the bar. A decision that turned out to be pure brilliance. The frozen margaritas, adorned with chili salt on the rim, transported my taste buds to a realm beyond ordinary – out of this world, to be precise.

If you don’t have a reservation, don’t expect to get a table here—at least not without a long and confusing wait. When we arrived, a friendly hostess told us she could seat us, but then spent an hour saying “just a minute” every 5-10 minutes. The frustrating part? There was an open table right in front of us the entire time, which we were eventually seated at.

Once we sat down, it took about 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. There was only one waiter working the floor, and he seemed more focused on a small screen than actually checking on customers. We ended up getting our drinks from the hostess—not the waiter—and then waited another 10–15 minutes just to place our order.

We each ordered two tacos, and instead of serving them on a single plate, they brought out giant plates—one for each taco—which completely crowded the table. The waiter also never cleared the empty plates, so it felt cluttered and messy the entire time. To top it off, a faulty light above us kept flickering on and off, making the experience even more uncomfortable.

The food itself was okay—not bad, but definitely not good enough to justify the poor service and frustrating experience. Overall, we left disappointed and wouldn’t return without major improvements in staff and...

La valoración es un cómputo de cosas no está mal pero tampoco bien así que valoro por puntos y cada uno se quede con lo que prefiera. Atención: los camareros estaba atentos pero a medias... Es decir nos veían en la mesa con cara de ¿Donde esta mi comida? Y pasaban de largo... Pero claro a los 20 minutos ya preguntaban. Comida: Lo único que me gustó fue el costillar de cerdo, ya que no pude pedir el machete porque ya no quedaban y ahí primera estrella menos... Si tienes un producto estrella al menos ten suficiente para la demanda de los comensales. Los totopos llegaron con muy pocos ingredientes quizás fue mala suerte porque en otras mesas se veían muy abundantes y el de nosotros apenas traía carne, no tardó ni 2 minutos en llegar con lo cual creo que los tenían ya preparado de alguna comanda errónea... Los tacos muy pequeños y con una cantidad escasa de comida además se equivocaron en los que pedimos. También me faltó la posibilidad de pedír alguna salda adicional o picante para determinados platos porque para ser un mejicano el picante más bien no existía... *Atención: los camareros aparentaban estar atentos pero nada más lejano de la realidad entre los totopos y el primer plato transcurrieron 50min, tuvimos que pedír 2 bebidas y ya la segunda nos la bebimos caliente de lo que tardo... De echo vinieron 2 veces a preguntar que si todo correcto y le dijimos que no... Que la comida no había ni llegado... Otra estrella menos. Tiempos: Horrible, casi 1h para servir la comida incluyendo reclamar 2 veces, y luego ves que otras mesas que conocía al dueño o encargado les sirvieron en 20 minutos todos los platos. Otra estrella menos. Local: muy bonito y muy ambientado con una decoración acorde, pero muy muy ruidoso hasta el punto de que cuando llevás 30 minutos ya quieres irte.

El definitiva me quedé con las ganas de probar su plato más caro "el Machete" pero no volvería más ya que considero que hay mejores opciones en comida mejicana en...
