Meson La Serrana — Restaurant in La Línea de la Concepción

Puedo escribir en Español, pero prefiero escribir esta crítica en inglés.

We came in early to make a reservation that day. Although we obviously foreigners, the staff became much friendlier once I was speaking to them in Spanish. (All right, that's fine. I don't grudge them about this - just putting the rest into perspective.)

However, when we returned the entire building was flooded. I made small talk by saying what a shame it was since we waded in freezing water up to our ankles for the preceding 30 minutes. Fine. But when I took a few pictures of the flooded scenery outside from the doorway, the boys who were working simply swept water into me, splashing me as I was putting my camera away.

I was so frustrated, but I said "I'm not trying to be rude" to them in Spanish - (Me recuerdes? Os dijo, "No quiero ser grosera") but they just mocked me. Completely childish, adolescent behavior.

We had a table around 9h. We had 2 montaditos, Solomillo.

It was big enough because since we already had 2 cañas and some tapas as aperitif at another bar. It was packed after while. I was bit surprised that there might be understaffed, but the staffs are very cheering, the mood was enough to enjoy as long as we had a nice table at the corner. The staffs are professional and hard working. Only thing the reason I gave only 4/5 stars the Solomillo was overcooked and dry, it is supposed to tender(as it is called tenderloin)and always has to be cooked pink. Anyway we were not hungry so stay positive. I guess the cook missed the timing today. The potato was excellent(good type of potato for fry & high quality oil)and there are excellent 2 sauces , I think one is green pepper sauce and another red(rose) one. Cockroach in my red wine that is all I have to say. It was at the bottom of my glass so I only realised when I took the last sip of my wine and thought that I had a bit of cork in my mouth🤢I told the waiter, he said sorry in a very passive way, no one came to talk to us, I had to go to the bathroom and threw up. Did anyone in the restaurant apologise or demonstrate any worry nope. They treated me as though I planted the cockroach there myself!!!! Terrible and all the did was remove the glass of red wine and inform me of the fact that they had just opened the bottle.
