Here just before Easter. Sitting in house as i write this- real-time eval! Looking for an awesome experience and got a .... "meh".
Atmosphere is excellent. Music could drop a little off 11...maybe to a 6-7, but all good. I still like the vibe.
Service gets a 3 because it's Spain and it's average for Spain. Anywhere else, this would be well below average, but TIS... "This Is Spain"
I had high hopes for food. I had to a couple hours for kitchen to open (at 8:00 PM) but again, TIS. I'm here looking a cheese board which is good enough to acceptable.
I ordered a vegetarian paella.... Oops. They told me minimum order was two at 19€ each... I ordered two at 19€ each and what I received was 1/2 and maybe the absolute WORST paella I've ever had.
I don't have the "foodie gene" or taster gene or whatever the hell they're calling it these days. I'm cave man.... ugh thumbs up or ugh thumbs down. This paella TOTALLY SUCKS!
I'm on the Camino de Santiago and will be boxing this up to provide to less fortunate pilgrims. But knowing those pilgrims near me, I suspect I'll be offering to some ho.eless and likely seeing a half empty paella box in the same spot several hours later.
I'm sad. Food has to be pretty bad before I slam it. I critique service before food, typically. But this food was horrendous, even by my caveman standards.
Co.e here for the drinks. Eat somewhere else.......

This charming spot, nestled amongst the historic 17th-century buildings and just a few steps from the impressive Cathedral de Leon, offers an ideal atmosphere for a business traveler looking to unwind after a long day.
The ambience at Mama Tere is perfect – it's not too loud, with just the right amount of background music to create a relaxing environment. Their wine selection is impressive, catering to a variety of tastes and preferences. The menu, though simple, features a selection of well-crafted dishes that are sure to satisfy.
One dish that stood out to me was the prawns, which were simply sensational – an absolute gastronomic delight. To top off the meal, I indulged in their cheesecake dessert, which elevated the dining experience to an entirely new level. The combination of these exquisite dishes and the overall atmosphere made for an unforgettable experience.
In terms of value, I believe Mama Tere delivers exceptionally well for its prices. If you ever find yourself in Leon, I highly recommend giving this charming restaurant a visit. It truly offers a wonderful respite for the...
Read moreI don’t tend to leave reviews but feel compelled to do so now. I ate here with a few friends and things started out well enough. We got our drinks and let the waitress know that we would be eating. A different waiter dropped off a bill that was not ours, then we had to go inside to get someone to come take our order (after waiting 40 minutes.) when our food arrived, it was not what we ordered. Unfortunately, although some people decided to eat it anyway due to the length of time it would be to get our actual order, one person was allergic to the food and had to order a different meal. When this was delivered, it too was the wrong meal. She returned it and left hungry. When the bill came we saw that we were charged for everything, including the meal that could not be eaten. Even after a conversation with the staff, they refused to remove any charge. I worked in the restaurant industry for quite some time-this is truly one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had....
