El Celler del Roser — Restaurant in Lleida

We had such a nice dinner. We chose only from the artichoke menu. The omelette with artichoke and gorgonzola cheese was amazing. Bread was crunchy and tasty, and the artichoke stuffed with mushroom ‘ceps’ and foie was incredible too. It was so cool that they had an only artichoke menu, that is why we went in. Service was very nice and helpful, although they don’t speak Catalan, but they understand so we could speak freely in Catalan. The place was clean, pleasant and cozy. We had a white wine glass, which was also very tasteful, with pear and apple taste, and very fresh. It was a Leridan wine: Sanui. We ate twice at the restaurant during a two night stay at the adjacent Parador hotel, lunch and dinner.

Lunch featured a selection of Tapas, between two, which was excellent, large portions of tasty food accompanied by good wine by the glass.

Dinner the following evening was a la carte, and excellent. Spanish food at its best.

Volia venir des de feia molts anys a aquest restaurant, i l'espera ha valgut la pena. Per començar vaig demanar les croquetes de pernil i bacallà, totes dues molt sabroses i on es notava molt el sabor del producte, destacant en la de bacallà la quantitat de peix que portava.

De primer vaig escollir seguir amb uns caragols a la llauna, i de segon un entrecot. Els caragols són els millors que he menjat en molt temps a Lleida, grans i molt ben cuits i amanits, pero la ració potser és massa petita, sobretot en relació al preu. Pel que fa a la carn, es notava que era de qualitat, i l'acompanyament era molt bo (sense cap salsa per evitar emmascarar sabors), però vaig trobar a faltar que estigués fet a la brasa.

Finalment, de postres, vaig demanar uns profiterols amb nata i xocolata que van acabar de donar un bon final a un àpat tant bo. Va costar triar d'entre tots els plats de la carta, però cap elecció va ser errònia i tots es van disfrutar plenament.

A banda del menjar, l'atenció era destacable també, propera i amable, i el restaurant ofereix un espai bonic, íntim i tradicional. És realment un lloc per repetir, però que pel seu preu no s'hi pot anar tant com es voldria. Espero poder tornar per provar més plats de la seva carta, ja que el bacallà, els arrossos o els gratinats...
