Last week we stayed in Mallorca and visited Del Sol almost every day because of their lovely cocktails and good breakfast. Let one thing be clear: Del Sol has a lounge/café and a restaurant which have two different menu's, kitchens and owners. Actually they are two seperate businesses in one building.
RESTAURANT - Luckily for you we visited both, less lucky for us haha. First of all the restaurant where we were just one time. A friend of mine ordered some chicken, an other friend a pizza and the other three of us spareribs with sweet sauce and spicy sauce. In less than 5 minutes after we ordered the food it was allready on our table: very fast. Too fast. The chicken was raw from the inside: NOT GOOD! Ok, can happen. Even the best people make mistakes. The pizza was fine and our spareribs weren't optimal warm and very fat. I'm just a normal boy who just wants to eat a nice peace of meat so I'm very fast happy about what I eat but this was even a little bit worse for me. About my friend who got the chicken, yes he is still alive haha. After a complaint he also got the spareribs with sweet sauce which were good.
LOUNGE/CAFE - The first day we orderd a few 1 litre cocktails... we loved them so much! They have normal cocktails, 1L and 1,7L. We almost tried all of the cocktails during the week and loved almost all. The personnel was very friendly and kind. People from all countries were working there wich was a nice experience. Especially a big shoutout to the girl from Hungary, she became a part of our holiday during the week haha. We also ordered some food in the evening: some tapas. We ordered in three rounds. We had to wait a long time for our food but it was worth it. Better than the 5 minutes at the restaurant. We had a nice evening with tapas.
Last of all we had breakfast over there the last 2 days. As Dutch people we wanted the "uitsmijter - spek". One thing I have to say: for al nationalities they have a special small menu with special food from that country. The breakfast was very delicious and a good start from a day.
Conclusion: I won't recommend the restaurant Del Sol. Lounge/Café Del Sol on the other hand is a big YES! You have to visit them and watch the sunset when you are on the terrace with a cocktail in...

However, the pasta dish with meat could have had more pasta—it felt more like meat with pasta, though the flavor was good. The place is pleasant with a nice view.
That said, the service during payment left much to be desired. The waiter showed me the bill on his device, and within 4–5 seconds, he pressed “next” without asking if I had reviewed it properly. I managed to glimpse what we ordered and assumed it was correct. After payment, the waiter returned and admitted he had mistakenly charged for two extra desserts (€8). While mistakes happen, I politely asked for the refund in cash or on the card. He said he couldn’t do that but offered a dessert or coffee instead, which I declined as I was full and preferred the money back.
He then claimed it wasn’t possible and even implied it was my fault for not reviewing the bill carefully—this came off as rude, especially since the error was theirs. I requested to speak with the manager, who never showed up. I was ready to reference Spanish law, specifically the Ley General para la Defensa de los Consumidores y Usuarios, which mandates that overcharged amounts must be refunded to the customer. Eventually, the waiter gave me the €8 from his tips but in a rude and annoyed manner, saying, “Here’s the money from my tips, thank you, and good day.”
What made it worse was that I overheard him speaking in Spanish to another table, making rude comments about us, saying something like, “This is what happens with people like them who don’t know…” I understand enough Spanish to catch this, and it was very disrespectful.
While I enjoyed the food and the view, this experience left a bad impression. I could have returned, but after this treatment,...
Read moreThere are two menus, and you can eat from only one on the beach and the other in the restaurant - my husband wanted meat (restaurant menu - since its call itself “steakhaus”) and I wanted tapas at sunset - in the terrace (with a teracce fee! - no joke), so my husband had to choose "beach food" instead - the arrogant woman who “welcomed us” said - when it was finally our turn in the line… While we were making our decision (like 0,5 sec) she let someone else in, saying “they had already decided” (so had we) - it's funny because the family she let in before us ended up leaving without ordering, so it was a shame... the sun was very hot on the terrace before sunset - we got it, so the umbrella was down IN THE WHOLE TIME- the waiters didn't act in time, so the entire sunset was covered by the umbrellas that were down, at least what we saw of it was really fabulous, so I'm not giving it 0 stars because of the sunset view. the food is horrible, the meat is bloody (and my husband likes it medium done - but the “beach version” was awful) the tapas are simply too much, there is nothing refreshing in it (a small salad, light snacks would be appreciated) - sausage swimming in oil, the worst aioli I have ever had, strange olives, warm cheese and ham, average dates with bacon, fried peppers and UNSALT potatoes. all the food was unsalted, to be honest we saw that literally all the guests were asking for the salt, but the arrogant waiters were just jumping around a rich old German man who of course had the most beautiful sunset table reserved, while others was still standing in a line. summary: ridiculous service, overpriced tasteless, oily, bloody food, covered (but really wonderful) sunset - I do not recommend this place, expensive...
