Bar Ángel — Restaurant in Logroño

You can’t have your cake and eat it too. On the very busy Laurel Street, Bar Angel is an institution.

One of those specialty tapas bar, they specialize in mushrooms. And they do it very well. And cheap. We did the notice the shrimps are smaller than in 2022. Shrinkflation.

But when you do it well and cheap, there are crowds. And the restaurant will try its best to serve everybody so service will be screamed and that adds to the overall atmosphere similar to a market. Not for everybody. Circus atmosphere.

Most bothering were the waitresses who ignore clients and scream at each other, over our heads, unrelated to service, just for fun. Classless. If I was the owner, I would attend to it because it makes the visit unbearable. We ate and we left because of that.

But that may be exactly what they want.

There are other people waiting to be screamed at.

Este sábado día 6/7/24 me ha ocurrido una desagradable experiencia en este bar Ángel de la calle Laurel. Después de pedir 4 corros y 4 champis, me cobran por adelantado 12 euros. Yo le solicito el ticket del pago y la camarera me dice que no, que cuando me traiga los champis me entrega el ticket. Yo le contesto que ese procedimiento no es correcto y es denunciable. Después de la espera de rigor me trae 3 champis y empieza el lío. Le digo que yo he pagado 4 champis y me dice que en el ticket reflejan solo 3. Le contesto que me ha servido 4 cortos y me hace pagar un pintxo mas.Me fijo en el ticket y no era el que yo había pagado ya que reflejaba 3 cañas y 3 pintxos. Me devuelve el importe del pintxo más 0,30 que era la diferencia entre el ticket que yo había pagado y el que me había entregado. Yo le digo que está mal y que me está devolviendo 0,30 euros que yo no he pagado. Vamos cómo hablarle a una pared. Para más inri cuando me trae el último pintxo que faltaba, el cliente de al lado me da un codazo y me lo tira al suelo. Le digo a la cantera lo ocurrido y le pongo el dinero de otro pintxo en la barra. Lo cobra y cuando vuelve le informo de que ese pintxo en la mayoría de los bares no lo hubieran cobrado. Ella dice que no es de culpa, y yo le digo que mia tampoco y que le va a costar esta reseña. Moraleja: cuando falta un procedimiento correcto del servicio y una profesionalidad mínima en el personal ocurren estos problemas. Este tipo de bares que no necesitan de la fidelizacion del cliente se aprovechan de ello. Por cierto la camarera no era española y no debía entender muy bien el castellano, lo que le provoca estar siempre a la defensiva en la comunicación. One of the BEST tapas restaurants/bars we visited in Spain - absolutely packed, even during the week. They serve one food item and they do it VERY well - it’s a delicious fresh piece of bread with 3 sautéed mushrooms and shrimp on it, and it pairs perfectly with their wine and beer offerings.
