In typical British holiday fashion, we decided to fully immerse ourselves in Spanish culture by eating fish and chips from Pearls Plaice, Los Alcazares. Not only that, we're now serial diners. The food is simply fantastic. Cooked to perfection, the portions are enough for even the healthiest appetite (yup, I'm a fatty and don't mind admitting it), the variety available is more than capable of catering to any taste and, because they're a family of good, honest, northern folk you can get gravy or curry on your chips. Reet proper gravy too. The service is also amazing. A lovely family who still have strong ties to "home" and can reminisce, laugh, joke and chat like old friends, all whilst somehow managing to make sure every customer at every table is fed, watered and fully satisfied. Fish batter was nice and thin but soggy, the fish itself was so over cooked and dry it was inedable. A medium fish, chips. Mushy peas and a pint was just under 12 euros. The pint was advertised on the board as 1.80 euros. This is the first time while been in this area (for over 2 months now) and eating out at least 5 times a week, that I have felt ripped off. I have had worse food but not at this price. Same meal in the UK was £5.95 and all the ingredients in the UK are...
