Restaurante Internacional Veni — Restaurant in Los Alcázares

Dinner for 2, spaghetti bolognaise garlic bread, mixed fajitas and a portion of chips. Bolognaise & garlic bread arrived. 10 mins later a plate with 2 small tortillas, a dish with a teaspoon of guacamole a tablespoon of sour cream and what looked like sweet chilli. Not a promising start! Companion finished her meal then a short time later the waiter arrived with fajitas and chips. It was on a sizzling platter but no sizzle was evident! I politely declined the dish as we had intended to eat a nice meal together. Overall disappointing from a restaurant that had come recommended. The garlic bread did not taste of garlic though it did smell garlicky, not a hint of fresh garlic I’m guessing, they also cooked it with fresh parsley on top, usually a garnish added after cooking, chewy overall would not recommend. 3 waiters approached me after I sent the food back asking what was wrong, why I sent it back and would I like to order anything else? I’m not sure what they thought repeatedly asking me this would achieve? We had planned to order desert and more drinks but decided to move on somewhere else instead. Tonight we decided on this restaurant and first I would say that the food was OK but the service and attitude were not. Most of the waiters never acknowledged us, say hello or interacted with us, and taking the order seemed to be an effort. One of the group could not finish their food so we asked to take it away which was done but then on the bill we received a 1 euro fee for the container that we had the food to go in. My understanding of the food waste law was that restaurants must offer you recycled packaging to take the food away at no extra fee. I understand it is just 1 euro but when you spend near to 120 euros you do not expect to pay for this. On the way out I mentioned this fee to the owner and he said it is a new tax, even if it is which I am sure it is not, why charge this to the customer who has spent 120 euro in your restaurant. I said to him that the way it was done has left us unhappy and we probably will not return. His reply was shocking, he said 'I have loads of customers and doesn't bother me, one in, one out

Had a very enjoyable meal at this restaurant on our holiday. Every table gets some bread to share to start which was a nice touch. We were keen for a paella, so chose this Mediterranean restaurant. Staff were very attentive at the start for our food and drink order which was good. We got the vegetable paella to share (paella is a 2 person dish only - 12€ each) which was delicious and plentiful! Lots of desserts on offer as well- we shared the chocolate cake which was delicious too. Despite the attentiveness at the start of the meal, staff did seem to forget about us after our main was delivered and we had to try flag them down for the bill and more drinks.
