Buenavista Gastrobar & Tapas in Malaga offers an exceptional dining experience that I can't recommend highly enough. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted with warm smiles and a friendly atmosphere that immediately made us feel at home. The food at Buenavista Gastrobar & Tapas is nothing short of extraordinary. The ox-tail croquettes, accompanied by truffle mayo, were a revelation. The combination of flavors was sublime, and each bite was a delightful explosion of taste. The beef cheek was cooked to perfection, tender and succulent, while the carpaccio was thinly sliced and packed with flavor. The ribs were a mouthwatering delight that left us craving more. What impressed me even more was the genuine passion and attention to detail that went into each dish. The presentation was impeccable, and the quality of ingredients shone through in every bite. It was evident that the chefs at Buenavista Gastrobar & Tapas take great pride in their craft. Located slightly off the beaten path, Buenavista Gastrobar & Tapas offers a peaceful and intimate setting away from the touristy areas. It's a hidden gem that truly captures the essence of local cuisine. The staff, in addition to being friendly, provided excellent service throughout our visit. In conclusion, Buenavista Gastrobar & Tapas is a must-visit restaurant in Malaga. The combination of exceptional food, friendly service, and cozy ambiance make it a standout choice. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this restaurant is well worth the trip. Prepare to indulge in a culinary journey that will leave you with unforgettable memories.

We went to Buenavista for dinner on our first night in Malaga. The service was very busy, but did enough to make us feel welcomed. We had 2 starters and 3 mains for the table (3 adults). What I loved The food! Ahead of ordering, we were given fresh bread rolls which were very tasty. We had a selection of fish and meat dishes and each one of them was very well made. The Red Tuna Tartare is spectacular and the gyoza was incredible. The Beef Cheek was super tender and flavoursome. I don't typically eat a lot of beef, but ate almost all of it, despite being very full towards the end. My niggles This place doesn't have many veggie options, which seems to be relatively common in Malaga. The price is also something to bear in mind, as it is a little on the higher side. Make sure to check your bill before paying. Our bill ended up quite a bit more than expected, as they charged us for 2 Ración (big) starters and 1 Ración (big) main, even though we specifically asked for the Media (small) dishes. We paid as we didn't want to make a fuss and had eaten the dishes thinking they were the small ones we asked for. The difference in price ended up being around €9 extra for each of those 3 dishes. I had also looked forward to the beef cheek dish, as it was advertised as coming with parmentier potatoes. Instead, I was given mash potatoes with my beef, which was tasty nevertheless.

We booked online after reading reviews about difficulty finding tables without reservations. The place gets busy around 9 PM, so I recommend booking if you plan to dine at that time. For starters, we ordered two half portions: oxtail croquettes (four pieces) with house-made truffle mayonnaise, and tuna tartare. Both were delicious. Our main course was octopus paella with artichokes, which we chose over lobster paella on our waiter Diego's recommendation. The paella was very flavorful but had a strong seafood taste. If you're sensitive to intense seafood flavors, this might not be the best choice for you. Despite this, it was a tasty dish, and the portion was generous. For two people, we found that two starters plus the paella was more than enough food. We finished with a millefeuille dessert, which was also quite good. The total bill came to £40. While not inexpensive, we felt the price was justified by the quality of the food and experience.

We walked out halfway as service was sooooo slow and main courses arrived with 15-20 min in the middle.

What a disaster experience this was. We were meeting up with Spanish and Dutch family with 9 people. The taste of the food was great, we started with tapa’s for the three children. Six main dishes were then ordered for each of the six adults. After about 45 min the first two mains arrived. Then after about 15 min (the others already finished their main course) the third main dish arrived, leaving that person enjoying the fish alone. After another 15-20 min still no sign of the other three main dishes. We then decided to pay and go. Waitress indicated she’d warned the kitchen many times. She indicated food was now ready and we’d get the steak for free, but the damage had been done, we just wanted to leave. We had high expectations based on reviews and being said the chef was a star chef. But waiters were not attentive and it was such a shame food never arrived. Ended up eating falafel on the street and each family went back to...
