Jamie’s Deli — Restaurant in Málaga

I was in the airport terminal at Málaga, just killing time before a delayed flight, hungry and a bit drained. I wandered into Jamie’s, not expecting much — just a quick bite to keep me going. I ordered a pizza, figuring it would be just another forgettable meal in transit.

But that’s when I met Carlota.

She greeted me with such genuine warmth, like I wasn’t just another traveler passing through. She took the time to talk, to ask how I was doing, and brought over the pizza like it was something special. And it was. Crispy crust, perfectly balanced toppings — easily one of the best I’ve ever had. But it wasn’t just the pizza that hit differently. It was Carlota’s presence. Her kindness, her attentiveness — it made me feel grounded in a moment that should’ve felt like nothing.

That short interaction reminded me how powerful a small act of care can be, even in the most ordinary places — like an airport terminal. I left Jamie’s with more than a satisfied stomach. Nov 2024: photo update. No sign of Jamie. Quite expensive now! Dec 2022: this little cafe in Malaga, Costa del Sol Airport has had some tough reviews. However, it is what you would expect from most establishments in an airport. Expensive (but not the most expensive in the airport) and fairly standard fare of sandwiches and pizza. The pepperoni pizza was slightly greasy, only warm to taste (not piping hot) and the crust was harder that I would have liked. I'd alike it to a pepperoni focaccia. The cafe slightly mars the usual standard of Jamie Oliver cuisine. Fresh orange was good though!

My boyfriend and I recently visited this airport on 9/26/20. He had gotten the penne bolognese pasta while I had the funghi pizza. The pizza was decent tasting despite being greasy; however, my boyfriend had an entirely different experience. He felt that the meat in his pasta had tasted sour. Later that day, like so many previous reviews, he experienced nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea throughout the entire night and morning.
