Amazing and welcoming place at first pass. We had to come back to try their dinner menu, and attentively followed the high reviews this place had on its ratings.
Firstly quality and care for their food surpass my experience and tastebuds, so far after being in Malaga for 3 days Mamay Malaga is a place to relax in a friendly environment while enjoying their gastronomy of food. We also ordered from the menu in the adjoining connecting restaurant La Regañaá which was the same establishment, as my partner wanted steak, and it was cooked to perfection as you want it. While I had the seafood linguini, with shrimps, clams, mussels that was so fresh you can taste the flavour of the sea without the compensation of the sauce, just the raw fresh ingredients of olive oil, parsley, herbs, that highlights the seafood on the pasta. It was so great and really hits the spot of my craving. We ended with another amazing dessert of ice cream covered in pistachios! A perfect balance of creamy tart and sweetness that is not overpowering. The customers besides us from Germany were also amazed by the same desert saying it’s so good that it’s not overpowering of sweet and just a balance of flavour, that we just had to try it as well. We also loved their sangria drinks that refreshed our palates before dinner.
The waiters and staff were so friendly to everyone, even to non costumers passing by and was so friendly to dog owners and their pets walking pass the restaurants taking a relaxing stroll, as well as other passer by giving everyone positive energy that can be seen from their smiles as they walk by. To top off the great experience they had a button at each table, so if you’re ready for your bill or wanted the waiter for anything else it’s just a press of a button.
The atmosphere is relaxed and cozy with a sense of comfort, cleanliness, and I must say this was the first public washroom in Spain I had been in that was so clean and smelled so nice! As we been to Seville, Cordoba and Granada on our way here to Malaga and never had I experience this kind of level in experience of great service, amazing quality of food, a welcoming and relaxing environment.
There is an air of authenticity, warmth, humbleness, and great pride and care for what this restaurant had to offer any visiting guests that can really elevate your day. A highly recommend jewel of a place in a less traffic tourist trap area. They’re price fair and affordable, and won’t break the bank. So if your around this area my partner and I highly recommend Mamay Malaga & La Regañaá on you’re list to go to for food.

The food is excellent! Exploding with flavours, unlike most restaurants that offer aesthetically great but bland.
The ambience is amazing. It has great, warm lighting that sets a classy but not intimidating atmosphere.
Value for money was the biggest surprise. Considering the amazing food and place, we ended up not really paying a lot (€70, 4 pax, 1 appetizer, 1 pasta, 2 main entrees, a bottle of wine, shared dessert).
The service was also top-notch. We were greeted and served by warm, sincere, and genuinely smiling gentlemen. So endearing!
Mamay offers Caribbean cuisine but apparently offers the Spanish menu from the adjacent kitchen. So many choose to from!
I will definitely go back to this place, whether alone, with someone, or a group! Thanks to my friend who recommended this. Now I am...
Read moreUnforgettable Monday night. Dishes all tasted very good. Made a great salad for my vegan wishes, not a plain boring salad but with veggies, avocado, balsamico, oil.
We ordered a dessert with ice-cream on the side (staff is great with special requests) and it was so good that we ordered a 2nd one.
We have a birthday tomorrow but this is the last night for my guests in Málaga so I told the staff and they had a birthday cake with candle and sang the birthday song! Other guests sang along ^^
Also great jazz/80s music, lovely tranquilo vibe and very friendly owners/staff. Definitely a...
