El Jardín de La Máquina — Restaurant in Madrid

Returned again to this restaurant, a restaurant I have visited a number of times! Joaquin, one of the managers, went out of his way to make my experience memorable, so memorable infact I decided to return to start the new year with them, but since returned. They are all exceptional. Thank you Joaquin and rest of the staff it has become a restaurant of choice every time I visit Madrid!

They have an extensive wine list! My wine was perfectly paired, and the entre was a good size, also cooked to perfection! The dessert tray was also exquisite. It was a presentation that included a bit of everything they offered.

The restaurant is on the outskirts of the city, but the ambiance decor and hospitality make this a place to definitely visit while in Madrid!

As for the end of year party, while it was a blast, I don't recommend it because I believe it is a bit overpriced for the food they offer. Of course it is a party to attend with family or friends so being alone sure took from the overall experience but there were kind friendly people I met there which made for an acceptable experience and Joaquin did check in on me, periodically! All in all, if you want to enjoy the end of the year, come with family or friends or better yet, celebrate at home!

I visited this restaurant for the first time as i saw the reviews and quality of food in the pictures. To be honest the food was tasty but an accident happened and that what makes me upset and i will never go again. Trust is very important and I don’t like when they try to fool a customer. We ordered a big sole fish for 4 person, it came, they show it to us and the waitress started to divide it. One of the plates that have a slice of the fish was accidentally dropped in the floor. I looked at it to memorize it. She said that she will make a new one (which doesn’t make sense to waste and cook another fish to serve a slice). She came back very fast and the fish was organized and cold (the same part that was in the floor). I told her its cold, means its not newly cooked, she took it and heat it and bring it back 😂. So I knew at that time that she is fooling me and the restaurant, regardless the good food, is not trustworthy. So...

Terrible service, not to say even dispicable service. The waiters where as bad as their boss was. We had reversed a table for a special event over a month ago, when we arrived we had a cornered table with no natural light, or view to the garden which is the only reason to go there... we ordered Arroz Abanda, which is served with mixed seafood normally, our plate for 6 people had 3 small shrimp... really!? To end i ask for traditional Spanish “licor de hierbas” which is given even in “menu restaurants”, obviously a good place they offer it, but no u had to ask for it, funny thing is they even charged it in the bill.... for real? A check that was over 200€ you are going to charge me 1 digestive liquor on a table of 6 people? Not to mention we had to return the desserts because they where old and disgusting.... it’s a disgrace what “la máquina”...
