I recently had a meal at SteakBurger Bar on Calle Fuencarral in Madrid. Walking in, I was struck by the sleek, modern décor—black tiled walls, warm wood tones, leather banquettes, and subtle neon art—setting a cool yet relaxed vibe.

I started with a crispy loaded fries platter topped with cheese and bacon, which arrived hot and flavorful. For my main, I opted for the signature double cheeseburger with bacon and caramelized onions—it was juicy, perfectly cooked, and had a great balance of textures and taste. The brioche bun held together well, and the beef was clearly high quality.

I also sampled the onion rings—light, crisp, and well-seasoned. To drink, I chose a local craft beer that paired perfectly with the savory meal.

When we arrived we were seated at a table, but after ordering food and drinks we were told to move to another table. Whilst a couple of the servers that bought out the food were friendly, we found our server Abdullah quite rude (but he seemed overly friendly with the larger groups of people). My husband's food came out first and my chicken salad came out late but was wrong as I asked for grilled chicken but it came with crispy chicken, so they had to remake it. Abdullah came and apologised but it didnt seem sincere, he looked more annoyed. My husband's t-bone steak apparently came with bread (we didn't ask for it but the server said it was for the steak meal) and then they charged for it later on the bill: this is very underhanded. I bought this to Abdullah's attention and he said they alway bring out bread with that meal (that's fine but it should say that on the menu and it should be included in the price, instead it was listed as "extra bread" on the bill). When paying, we asked for help in understanding the itemised bill and Abdullah outright said he "doesn't know anything" and didn't help us. We paid and left. Overall, food was okay but not really worth what we ended up paying for it, and service was not good so...
