Well that was a bummer. We came here a few days ago and had a delicious turmeric bread sandwich. We were told to sit at a dirty table and just assumed it was because the server was busy. She eventually cleared the table. When our food came, it was left at the cash register why other patrons breathed on it. We assumed it was cultural since the server, after finishing some smoothies, put silverware on the plates, then brought them over. We really enjoyed the sandwiches.
Today we decided to try again and get there early. We walked in after a party of 3. They sat at a 6 top and we sat at a neighboring 4 top. I alerted the same server from a few days ago that we were seated in the back. She came a few minutes later and said the 4 top was reserved. My partner asked if you can reserve online. She said yes but only for special parties like 6 or more. So of course we looked at her like she was crazy because the party of 3 was seated at the table for 6. Then she quickly said 'or for babies' meaning a child's seat at the table. Mind you that as soon as she approached us, the restaurant went silent. It was completely awkward. She said we can wait for a table or joint the party of 3.
This review is for people of color, Americans, or those who hate discriminatory behavior. There is no reason why we should've left if a party of 5 (4 plus a baby) were coming 22 minutes later when the party of 3 sat at the larger table at the same time as us.
I really wanted to love this place, but we just don't feel welcome. If this somehow cultural and I'm completely off base, please let me know, but I have to post based on my...
Read moreIf you're in Manacor, it's a must visit. In this lovely Cafe you can drink delicious coffee, delight yourself with tasty cakes and eat amazing breakfast dishes. They are producing their own bread(there's even gluten free bread) and use only local fruits, vegetables and products for their dishes. If you want to drink your coffee with milk, you've got the option between normal fresh milk and oat milk. In my photos you can see their Menu, their cinnamon rolls, two coffees (flat white& Americano) and a special version of their toasted sourdough bread which was served with fluffy goat cheese, salad, little local apricots and caramelized nuts. It was so delicious! The staff is amazing, friendly and speak perfect English. Looking forward to my next visit! Highly recommend checking them out and giving them a follow on...
Read moreOutstanding! We simply LOVE the SA Bakery and Cafe for its superb coffees and wonderful bakery. The coffee they serve here is far superior to the usual brew you get on the island. People who complain about the price completely ignore the quality they get in the cup. The baked bits are the perfect companion for the coffein fix - just devine! We have had the cinnamon rolls, the lemon rolls and the chocolate baklava - all of these couldn't have been better. The place itself is stylish with a welcoming atmosphere and the staff very friendly. We visited the SA Bakery and Cafe several times and never have been disappointed! If top notch coffee and mouthwatering baked goods are your thing you should head into...
