Chiringuito El Abrevadero. — Restaurant in Marbella

Me and my friend just needed a place to sit a while, and get a beer. We sat down, ordered two large beers. This was somewhat unproblematic the first round, but not the second! I found in hindsight, he refused to give a third beer, it had to be 2 more beers, making it 4 total. It is not like we drank them slowly either (4.5 EUR per large beer), and I was supposed to drive. However, he ended up bringing us two more beers... At this point, I didn't know he refused to bring just one beer, and just quietly acquiesced to it. Yeah, I only got a few zips in before we had to leave, because wife and guests wanted to leave the beach. Luckily, my wife downed the beer like a champ. I usually give 5%-10% tips, but if I had one cent, that would been the tip. Lowest I had, was 20 cent, so that ended up as the tip. Well, if enough people find this helpful, that will be my revenge! :) Thank you...

The food in this restaurant is quite good, but my experience with the staff was very unpleasant. I came to them politely asking for help regarding a package that had been mistakenly delivered to their address. I simply wanted to ask if anyone had seen it.

Instead of at least speaking to me, the staff behaved in an extremely unprofessional way — they started yelling at me, telling me to get out, and insisting they had no package. This happened while it was clear that many people work there, including a waiter and the manager in the kitchen. The response I received was basically: “Get lost, we don’t have your package” — in a rude and dismissive manner.

Chiringuito El Abrevadero is a very lovely and friendly place. The staff are very kind and attentive and the food is great - it’s becoming more difficult to find mostly traditional Spanish dishes in lots of places now - please don’t change anything!

Everyone works hard to provide a good service - a great team! It’s also a cool place to stop and have a café con leche y un té verde any time.
