El Vecino — Restaurant in Marbella

⚠️ FOOD POISONING WARNING ⚠️ My friend and I both had the goats cheese salad for lunch at this restaurant and within three hours we were both violently sick which continued all night. It’s the only food we both ate that’s the same. Also it was the goats cheese salad we were throwing up. I called to let the restaurant know to not serve the goats cheese salad, then when I did a follow up call the owner / manager I spoke to showed no understanding about health and safety precautions when it comes to food. This included him not knowing that salad alone can carry deadly bacteria (his response “salad can’t make you sick”) and that bad batches of goats cheese can be contaminated with listeria. Although he advised they checked the sell by date, I had to advise him on letting the suppliers know immediately. Bar Bistro el Vecino is an excellent family run business / restaurant. Food is Great , Delectable and Appetising . The owners and staff are exceptionally friendly and caring . The location of the restaurant is ideal and one can sit there for hours , of course if one can ! Usually they are very busy . We go from Estepona especially to eat there and spend some time in beautiful San Pedro . Anyway Bar Bistro el Vecino is highly recommended. By the way if you are thinking to invest and buy a property in Marbella , San Pedro , Puerto Banus , Fuengirola and beautiful Estepona ask for lovely Ana , she is an extremely Knowledgeable , Helpful , Kind , Experienced and Professional lady . We are here now it’s very busy on a Friday as all the local Dutch people pop in. Normally We are here on a Saturday and it’s not so busy. As usual the food is great tonight I had the Fillet steak with peppercorn sauce not much left as it’s cooked perfectly to medium rare but I took a photo anyway, usually on a Saturday I eat the Indonesian ribs and they are so delicious ....
