Fat Mama Trattoria — Restaurant in Marbella

6 of us meet up and went for dinner and everyone got sick. We are different things so probably unclean kitchen. I contacted the Restaurant and they told me to text Celia through what’s app. I told her everything about most of us feeling unwell but one of the guests I brought there was severely sick. She sent me a Spanish form to fill in for their insurance company. I filled it in and sent back to her. Then I asked for a refund and she told me to contact their insurance company Mapfre and sent their phone number. Tried so many times to contact this insurance company but no one spoke English and they would put you on hold, and someone else would pick up…speak spanish…then hang up. After 7 days of having upset stomachs we went to the doctor and we all had E Coli. The guy who was very sick had to get medicine the rest of us just had to wait for it to pass. I have a doctors note but still no refund. Fat Mama doesn’t even want my bank account information for a refund. This place doesn’t even deserve one star. The service was absolutely appalling and the food was terrible. This has got to be the worst Italian restaurant I have come across. There was only 2 tables occupied in the restaurant, we ordered starters and mains and they brought out the mains before the starters. With only two tables to serve this is simply unacceptable. When I asked them what happened to the starters I got a blank look. When I raised this with our waitress she decided to walk off whilst I was speaking with her, customer service was clearly not in her vocabulary. When I raised this with management I received an apology with the excuse stating their staff are recruited for the summer and don’t have much experience. (but you don’t need any experience to have common sense and manners.) The manager then took the order for ice cream, 30 mins later still no ice cream, at which point we had enough and just walked out. I had the pleasure of dining at Fat Mama Trattoria recently, and I must say the experience was outstanding. A huge part of that was thanks to Estera, whose warm and attentive service truly made the meal memorable.

From the moment we arrived, Ester made us feel welcomed and comfortable. She was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and gave us great recommendations. Her timing was perfect—checking in just the right amount without being intrusive, and always with a smile.

As for the food—it was absolutely delicious. Every dish we ordered was fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. The pasta was cooked to perfection, and the sauces were rich and authentic. You can tell a lot of care goes into the ingredients and preparation.

Estera’s exceptional service combined with the fantastic food made this one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. I’ll definitely be coming back—and recommending Fat Mama Trattoria to friends and family.
