China City Calahonda — Restaurant in Mijas

Very disappointed with this restaurant!! Me and my girlfriend went for an evening meal and we told them my girlfriend had a nut allergy as soon as we sat down. During our starter she started having a nut attack!! When we asked the staff if the food had nuts in, they assured us it didnt, but after checking with the kitchen staff it became clear there were peanuts in it. What we found most annoying was their reassurance that there was 'only a little bit' of nut content (clearly no awareness of how allergies work!!). Thankfully we had the medication we needed but we found the staff's lack of concern worrying as they were more bothered about us paying for what we had managed to eat. We will certainly not be going back and I would urge other visitors to think twice...

It’s nice to be able to order a vegetarian meal here but the choices are a bit limited. We ordered bean curd and then selected a black bean and spicy sauce. There was way too much bean curd and not enough vegetables. However it was all tasty. I also ordered the fried bananas and presentation was a bit poor but food was good. Service was good though but I just feel it could be a lot better.

Last note I noticed there was shark fin soup on menu. I hope this is removed as soon...

If I could give it zero stars I would. Previous reviews are great but we waited 25 minutes to get a drink, 45 minutes for the first course which was nothing special and after a further 30 minutes waiting for the main course we paid and left. Average food, rubbish service, do not go there. We were told by a fellow diner that the owners 'are away'. They better hurry back or they will not have a business left. We were not alone in having this...
