When we first sat down at a table it took around 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us, staff were standing around and walking past us, it took us to flag someone down to even get a menu. We were about to leave due to waiting so long for a drinks order and a menu. Some tables were taken up by piles of things, some staff were busy sorting these tables rather than taking orders. Then there were two staff members chatting between themselves over who would even take our order. The drinks order was wrong to begin with. We ordered the mixed paella and the prawns on the top were over cooked, the shell was almost fused to the fish, other than that the paella tasted very nice. Our side dish and our main course were served around 5 minutes apart which when you're sat outside means that the side was cold before the main even came out. Whilst we were eating our meal, one staff member kept walking over to see if we had finished and hovered around us until we had finished. The moment we had our last mouthful they wanted to take the plates away and whilst we were finishing our drinks we felt like staff were staring at us almost wanting us to leave to get the table ready for someone else, even though there was a few empty tables. A large party left as we arrived and it took staff 45 minutes to clean the table down even though some were standing around. We felt very rushed and the service was very slow...

If you're seeking a gourmet adventure in Mijas Pueblo, El Mirador might not hit the mark. My recent visit left me with mixed feelings, as expectations for a truly grilled snapper and authentic pizza were, unfortunately, not met. The grilled snapper arrived, to my surprise, looking more pan-fried than grilled, lacking the distinctive char and flavor I anticipated. Similarly, the pizza was a letdown. The base had a "bun-like" texture, strongly suggesting it was either frozen or made from a pre-made crust, rather than fresh, traditional pizza dough. Tomato&Mozzarella was basic although mozzarella was a bit dryish and not tasty...On a slightly more positive note, the four cheese pasta was decent, an acceptable, if uninspired, dish. However, where El Mirador truly shines is in its affordability. The prices are quite reasonable, making it a viable option if you're simply looking for a quick and inexpensive meal to fill up. It's the kind of place that caters to those who prioritize value and convenience over culinary exploration. In essence, El Mirador is perfect if you're in search of a straightforward, budget-friendly meal, perhaps akin to a reliable fish and chips spot. But if your aim is to embark on a culinary journey or discover exceptional flavors, you'll likely need to set your...
Read moreIf I could give a minus 10 stars to this restaurant, I would. I visited this restaurant with my family, a total of 7 of us and were very dissapointed with our meals and the terrible experience with had with the bad service received. After waiting for 80 minutes and several chasing of "were is our food to the waiters" at long last the first dish of a seafood paella for two arrived which was extremely dry and completely tasteless and even we were quite hungry, my son and I couldn't eat it more than a small bit. To make things worse, even that I mentioned with the order that the paella was as a main course and to be served with the other dishes, we then had to wait for the other 5 plates to arrive on a peace meal basis the first 10 minutes after the paella and the others at 5 minutes intervals. With the exception of one of the meals, the other 4 were also tasteless and we decided to leave with much of the food uneaten and asked for the bill, only to have to wait for further 15 minutes and then I had to go to the counter to ask again. On all my years visiting dozens of restaurants on the Costa del Sol, never have we seen such a bad restaurant with such poor...
