Peccati di Gola Mijas-Pueblo — Restaurant in Mijas

• EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING * After visiting Peccati di Gola on two previous occasions within just 4 days. We decided to visit again and try some different items from the menu.

However we left extremely disappointed, upset and frustrated after arriving on time and spending 20 minutes without anyone taking our order for drinks. Then left watching many other customers be seated, receive their drinks and food and yet no one visited us. Whilst the restaurant was extremely busy I felt the attention should have been on current customers not trying to seat many more as their number 1 priority.

Eventually we placed our food order and drinks after around 40 minutes after being seated although managed to finish our wine before I was forced to challenge where our food was some 1 hour and 20 minutes after arriving.

The manager said he would place the order now as it had not been placed yet!! Which was shocking to hear after being sat in the restaurant for nearly 1 hour 30 minutes. I said we would not be waiting any longer and they had the cheek to charge me for wine and water before I left.

It is really disappointing that we received this experience and was even charged for their mistakes.

Obviously it was not a real Italian restaurant and I already had in mind that the reason we went is because my son wanted a pizza.

The place is OK, and of course it is well located in a fantastic town square. Service has room for improvement. I am Spanish and this was the reason I was treated well, but I did observe how many tourists did not get the same treatment. Regarding the food, well, I ordered the Fettuccine Mar y Monte (supposedly with mushrooms, prawns and chilly), but got a full seafood dish. Pasta needed a bit more salt, and well, the seafood was not fresh, but frozen cheap stuff. The pizzas are edible, but nothing to praise for.

Overall it was ok and because the place is nice and you sit in a beautiful area, it is acceptable. But it is not a place I would recommend. There are plenty of better restaurants around that I'm sure will avoid mistakes like cooking without salt or using...

I had one of the most disappointing and upsetting dining experiences here. I ordered the Tagliatelle Mare e Monti, and everything seemed fine—until I reached the last shrimp the big one. It was rotten. The smell was awful, and I immediately felt nauseous 🤢

I informed the waiter right away, expecting at the very least an apology or a small gesture of goodwill. But instead, when I went to pay, I was shocked to find that they charged me full price. The manager simply said, “You ate most of the dish,” as if that excuses serving spoiled seafood 😂

This is not just poor service—it’s a serious food safety issue. The lack of responsibility, care, or respect for customers’ health was truly appalling. I left feeling sick and deeply...
