I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant.
I was visiting Spain to assist one of my Houston friends who relocated to La Cala de Mijas permanently the 2nd week of July (2024) and we wanted a breakfast place that opened before 10:00am, so we could get our day started. There are a lot of things to accomplish with moving house to a completely different country.
Snack Attack fit the bill, but little did we know that it also serves delicious food!
I had the Full English Breakfast on our first visit (yes, we returned two days later) and it was just as good as the breakfasts I had in Falkirk, Inverness, and Oxford. The iced coffee was delicious, as well. We sat on the patio and the owner, who is one of the nicest fellas you’d ever meet, served us and let us known he’d opened Snack Attack 21 years ago.
We vowed to return.
And we did. On our second trip we had the pleasure of meeting the owner’s sister and she was our server for that breakfast. She is just as friendly and helpful. This time I opted for the smaller English breakfast because I wanted to have tea and crumpets (for the first time ever). Oh! What a delight!
I literally cannot wait to return to Spain to see my friend AND to head back to Snack Attack for another amazing breakfast.
Hmmm, I suppose I should try their dinner some time, as well.
The prices are great, the food is delicious, the service is exceptional, and the atmosphere on their large patio is just perfect.
And don’t ignore the sparrows as they won’t ignore you. Those birds were the...
Read moreAs a La Cala local and someone who comes regularly it pains me to write this review since the folks are so nice. But as one who is a partner in several restaurants back home I'd want the feedback so giving it here.
Was there a few days ago where I ordered coffee then breakfast... coffee came after 5min... after about half an hour I tried to wave someone down (tables were about 60% full)... took about 15 min so there 45 min total (you'd think someone would notice my coffee was empty and no food on my table)... discovered that there's a new system and my order got lost... and got an apology.
However I had an appointment so had to leave... asked to pay the 2Eur for the coffee and left.
Now I don't care at all about the 2Eur, but it felt insulting that after a screw up I wouldn't get the normal "Really sorry about that, coffee is on us"... I have a fast service place back home and the staff know that on small mess ups they can give a drink no problem... if it's something bigger (like they're order was totally lost) tell the manager and the manager knows to give them either the meal taken care of or a gift card.
Mistakes will happen, no issues... it's what a place does to "make it right" that's really the...
Read moreDear team,
I visited your establishment with the intention of enjoying a coffee and a sandwich, however, I was extremely disappointed by the experience I had. Upon entering, I was approached by a member of your staff who informed me that I could not sit at one of the tables because I needed to wear a t-shirt.
I was greatly surprised by this instruction, as I was dressed in black pants and a black shirt, attire that I consider completely appropriate and respectful.
This policy seemed discriminatory and arbitrary to me, as I did not see any clear indication at the entrance of the premises or on your website about the required dress code. As a customer, I felt embarrassed and humiliated by the way I was treated.
I hope that you will review and reconsider your dress code policy to ensure that all customers are treated with respect and dignity, regardless of their appearance.
P.S. I also want to mention that I believe I was not attended to properly because...
