We went to Sensations with Friends for a Birthday celebration.
The venue is excellent situated on the main beach road over looking the sea and on this occasion there was a full moon over the water which made it look very exotic.
The decor is modern and comfortable, very clean and shiny. The table was spacious and the service was, for the most part attentive and friendly.
We all chose from the 'set menu' which i think was 12-13 Euros a head but i cant get their web site to work so I cant see exactly what the rate was.
There were some lovely (if fairly predictable) menu choices and we had a range of starters, mains and deserts, most of which were delicious.
My partner and I both went for the Tuna steak which if I'm honest, was the least appealing choice.
The fish itself looked more like swordfish than Tuna with lots of dark, almost black flesh. It had very little taste and the sauce it came in was completely tasteless.
Served with a whole potato halved it was just very bland, unlike some of the other dishes, especially those that came with pepper sauce which was declared 'fabulous.'
I think this was just the wrong choice, eat fish in the Fish restaurants.
However my starter, deep fried cheese with Jam was tasty and the Rice pudding with Cinnamon (ask for them to heat it up [Caliente] or its served cold) was to die for.
They brought out a Cheesecake (which we had supplied) with candles on and joined in singing Happy Birthday. They also took some group Photo's for us.
The wine was good and the Gin & Tonic were large and plentiful.
There is a Thai Menu which i would have liked to try so maybe we will need to come back again.
Sensations is ideal for a mixed group who don't want too many surprises or to be too adventurous. It should be constantly good though perhaps it is in danger of being too safe?
I can see some reviews are a bit negative but on this occasion, they delivered to a reasonably...

We recently had our Padel team meal at Sensations Restaurant in Mojácar, with a group of 40 people. We all had the three-course set menu, and considering the size of our party, the staff handled everything impressively. All the starters arrived at the same time, which was well-coordinated, and while one table had a slight wait for their mains, it was understandable given the large group.
For my meal, I started with mussels in a delicious sauce, followed by a ribeye steak with peppercorn sauce, served with tasty chips and vegetables. My steak came out cooked to perfection at medium-rare—exactly how I like it. While the steak wasn’t the size you'd get at a specialist steakhouse, for a set menu at just over €20, it was fantastic value. The cheesecake for dessert was exquisite, rounding off the meal perfectly. The only thing I felt could have made it better was a couple of slices of baguette to soak up the lovely sauce from the mussels. I wasn’t going to hassle the staff for bread, especially as they were so busy (but never panicked), but I’m sure they would have happily provided it if I had asked.
The restaurant itself has a stylish mix of modern and classic décor, and I especially loved the unique glassware. I also checked out the upstairs function room, which is beautifully decorated and offers an amazing sea view with a stunning balcony—an ideal setting for private events.
Overall, Sensations provided an excellent dining experience for our large group. Great food, well-organized service, and a lovely atmosphere—I’ll definitely...
Read moreSensations is just about our favourite restaurant in Mojacar. We've lost count of the amount of times we have been there. Plus, it has now gotten even better. Under new management but, with no detrimental changes and only a few small tweaks to make improvements to the dining experience, (for example: most of the fish dishes are now filleted and tables have posh tablecloths and updated table layout). There is nothing to fault here. The staff are kindly, helpful, pleasant, jovial, sometimes even jocular. This really helps bolster the wonderful ambiance. The restaurant is spotlessly clean, (inclusive of toilet facilities). They regularly have live music here too. Then there is the food. A 'menu del dia', with many many choices for each of the three included courses, currently priced at €17.95, with a minor supplemental charge on just a few of the choices, (steak for example). I highly recommend the 'oven cooked lamb with honey'; and my wife says the 'fillet of sea bass' was phenomenal. There really is nothing to say about Sensations, that is not sensational. (The only slight niggle I would mention is that they have always, in the past, offered a 'chupito', (little shot drink), when getting the bill but, this has not happened the last two occasions that we visited and we always felt that this set Sensations above some other restaurants). However, all that said, we highly recommend this wonderful restaurant, which we have visited many times and so should you dear reader...
