We've been here before, and it was good.
Tonight was not.
We arrived around 8:30pm, the restaurant was quiet.
First of all, We were asked what we wanted to drink as soon as we sat down, before we were offered a drinks menu.
We ordered a caprese salad and bread starter, and asked if we could have a little pesto genovese with the salad, (the restaurant offer multiple pasta dishes with pesto genovese), the waitress said she needed to ask the kitchen. The answer was no. No pesto for salad. How can a restaurant that serves pesto pasta have no pesto?
Then the salad arrived, but no bread, when I finally managed to get the waiters attention, he went to check the kitchen, two minuites for bread, after waiting a while (maybe 5 minuites), the waiter came back and said the bread would take 15 minuites. 15 minuites, for some bread, that was ordered together with the salad, as a starter to share.
No apology was offered, when I questioned 15 more minuites, on top of the 10 or 15 since we ordered, for bread... The answer was a nonchalant "the kitchen says 15 minuites"
The service was brusque and informal, bordering on rude.
We canceled the pizza order and asked for the bill
The waiter then walked around the restaurant shouting loudly to the kitchen and other staff about what was happening .
We paid the bill, which was charged in full, still with no apology or sign theyd made a mess of the simple task of serving a starter,
We've returned to this restaurant multiple times, but we won't be back.
Disappointing, unpleasant and dismissive.

Read moreBooked a table for Wednesday 30th October lunchtime. Called to amend and confirm the booking prior to the booking date. I was told that the restaurant would be open and my booking confirmed, then in the same call that the restaurant would be closed and then, in the same call that it would be open. My party of 6 turned up on the date and time of the booking to find the restaurant closed . Very embarrassing and disappointing . Fortunately the Dolce Vita just a little way down the Playa was open. Excellent food at Dolce Vita, don't know about Ilaria Imperial as we didn't get to eat there. Furious with the staff/management at...
