El Girasol Vegetariano — Restaurant in Murcia

Girasol means "sunflower" and that's what you feel like in this adorable vegetarian restaurant in Murcia City: a little sunflower nourished by fresh, flavorful food-- and the warm sun if you choose to sit on their lovely terraza.

I’ve eaten here several times and it’s consistently great. They offer a wide range of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options at affordable prices, without relying on meat substitutes—just well-prepared plant-based dishes. You can really taste the love in every bite.

The owner is a gem, too. Her passion for good food and for this wonderful little plaza (honestly my favorite plaza in Murcia) shine through in all her dishes.

I was a bit disappointed today because I came hoping to try two off-menu dishes I’d seen on Instagram, but the regular menu didn’t disappoint—everything is delicious.

Highly recommend if you’re looking for a vegetarian restaurant in Murcia with real heart and flavor.

Fantastic vegetarian restaurant in the heart of Murcia. It was quite busy when we arrived and we did not have a reservation, but there was one small table available inside and the employees seated us promptly. Staff were super nice and warm, we ordered 2 main appetizers to share and 2 entrees. Every plate was better than the last, truly one of the best tasting vegetarian restaurants I’ve had the pleasure to eat at. After eating, I really wasn’t hungry anymore, but we still had to order the carrot cake for dessert because we just knew it would be wonderful, and it was. %150 recommend that you try this place whether you already live in Murcia or are just stopping by for a few days like we were. Reservamos para San Valentín una mesa en este restaurante ya que mi novia es vegetariana y quería darle una sorpresa... Como llegábamos tarde porque amhabia tráfico llamé por teléfono para avisar y cual sorpresa la mía que de muy malas maneras me dicen casi gritando que hemos perdido la reserva, que no tenemos mesa en San Valentín habiendo reservado y sólo llegando una media hora tarde, el caso es que nos acercamos para hablar con la "jefa" la cual nos esperaba en la puerta, nos empieza a dar una charla sobre porque no estaba bien llegar tarde a los sitios, al cabo de un rato le acabamos preguntando si al final teníamos mesa o no ya que supuestamente doblaba las mesas a las 10.30 y eran las 10, dice que haciéndonos un favor nos podía sentar, directamente no le dije que se quedara su mesa porque ya era tarde y no me apetecería dar más vueltas buscando mesa. Una vez sentados el local es pequeño y más o menos bien decorado aunque con unos toques raros, la carta escasa y poco imaginativa de la cual elegimos dos primeros y dos segundos, recuerdo de nuevo que mi novia es vegetariana y comemos habitualmente ese tipo de comida, dicho esto diré que la cocina es aburrida, sosa, sin imaginación ni gusto, plana y aburrida, nada que destacar únicamente un vino ecológico tinto que estaba rico, los postres estaban bien y la cuenta al final unos 50 eu, la camarera que nos atendió ni nos preguntó en toda la cena nada cuando por lo visto era lo habitual que hacía con los demás y acabó pidiéndonos perdón por el trato que nos habían dado echando la culpa a su jefa porque era "así", una muy mala experiencia en un restaurante que no merece la pena en absoluto visitar porque no aporta nada ni a la cocina en general ni a los vegetarianos en particular, mucho mejor el jardín de los dragones en el mismo Murcia y...
