Ponderosa Beach is one of those rare places where everything comes together effortlessly — the location, the food, the service, and the overall vibe. Located right on the beach in the northeast of Majorca, it offers a stunning and laid-back setting that perfectly captures the Mediterranean spirit.

Environment: The atmosphere here is relaxed but curated — beach club style with natural wood elements, soft lighting, and chill music that never overwhelms. Dining with your feet in the sand, facing the sea, while the sun sets in the background is a real highlight. It's the kind of place where you instantly feel on holiday.

Service: The staff were attentive, friendly, and genuinely cared about making our evening special. From the aperitivo to the final dish, we always felt well looked after without being rushed — the perfect balance of professionalism and warmth.

Food Quality: We opted for a simple dinner, and every dish exceeded expectations. The deep-fried octopus was a standout — lightly breaded, crispy on the outside, and tender inside. It’s one of the best I’ve had in a long time. We also tried two fresh salads — one tomato-based, and one mixed — both light and flavorful. The aperitivo was another lovely surprise: small reinterpretations of classic bites, beautifully presented and very creative in taste.

Price: Price-wise, it’s fair to say this is not a budget spot. If you compare it to average Spanish prices, it might feel slightly high — but considering the beachfront location, the quality of ingredients, and the level of service, it’s absolutely aligned with European standards. Great value for what you get.

Final thoughts: Ponderosa Beach is perfect for a beachside lunch, a sunset aperitivo, or a relaxed dinner with friends. Whether you come for the view, the vibe, or the octopus (you should!), it delivers on all fronts. Highly...

Booked this place as the Google ratings were great and saw a blog recommending the paella here.

I came here for lunch with my husband and in-laws. My in laws ordered the pork ribs which they loved however my husband got the John Dory and I got the seafood paella - which were not good. We are from a place where we have access to fresh seafood and this was not fresh, as you’d expect on this island! It tasted like it was old seafood and the taste of the sea was so potent it overpowered the paella flavours. Same with the John Dory, definitely not fresh.

We barely touched our meals. Huge disappointment.

The setting wasn’t bad, tidy space and the staff members were ok, one of them definitely stood out as being more friendly than the others.

We asked for the bill 3x but ended up having to go up to the desk and pay it as they didn’t bring it to our table. Note the restaurant was not at all busy either.

We also noticed later when looking at the receipt that the bread and olives they bring you at the start of the meal (which you don’t order) isn’t complimentary - they charge for it. So you pay for something you didn’t request.

On top of all that, way too pricey for the quality and service.

Would not...

Ponterosa is the future of Mallorca. Why? Because they do it better than everyone else. While Numa Beach is beautiful, it tries to be more like a beach club in Marbella or St. Tropez. That's nice but still seems very inappropriate. There's a reason why there are fewer clubs like Nikki Beach on Mallorca. The crowd here is different. Not worse, not better. Different. More down to earth. And that's where Ponterosa comes in. No frills, but with lots of love. It fits in here. It's beautiful. When the DJ plays here, no one feels compelled to recreate keinemusic-parties at Shellona Beach. And they don't have to. But this place is real and everyone is welcome. Whether you just want to eat French fries or fresh oysters. The quality of these is unbelievably good here, by the way. I wish there were more places like this on Mallorca. Where champagne meets cerveza and everyone seems happy. We would also like to highlight the employee Juan. Incredible guy! When he noticed my preference for Spanish anis, he brought me one after the other so I could try them all. On the house. It was just wonderful. We say thank you to the whole team and please stay...
