La Santa — Restaurant in Santa Margalida

La Santa has had some changes made this year and has been brightened up, with plants, sofás and colourful decor.

It used to be a quiet place to enjoy an excellent meal overlooking the beautiful beach and views across to Alcudia where locals, families and tourists would come.

This year there is very much a party atmosphere with a DJ on Saturday afternoons into the evening.

Our friend's reserved a table for 8 fir lunch and unfortunately the table wasn't ready for another 30 minutes, so we were advised to have a drink whilst waiting for a table to become available.

Our friends pre ordered a paella mixta and wanted a vegetarian paella too. Unfortunately vegetarian paella is not available here, as one of the party is vegetarian. However there are otger vegetarian options available on the menu. Our friends ordered bread and aliolli whilst waiting for the paella to be cooked, but it never arrived. The paella was OK but sadly not the best we have tasted. Our vegetarian friend ordered the falafel burger but commented the falafel was rather dry.

There was a real party atmosphere with a DJ and the music was good. The staff were very busy and polite as in previous years.

Just typing this whilst my husband finishes his drink in the restaurant. We didn’t have a reservation but they accommodated us quickly with a table for three.

Sadly my family don’t eat shellfish so I couldn’t have the paella as you have to order for two people as a minimum (same in most restaurants here) but lots of others were eating it and it looked and smelled amazing!

We had chicken burgers and my husband and daughter scored these 8 & 9 out of 10….the chicken was freshly cooked and not mass made. The only reason my husband marked down was because he didn’t think the avocado added anything extra, my daughter order hers without anyway (smart girl lol)

I had the lamb, wow it was gorgeous!!! So tasty, even the side salad had lots of flavour….and all for under €15!

3 meals, 2 beers, 2 juice, 1 sangria & 1 espresso all for €61.10

Referente al comentario de Gloria Tejero, estaba con ella y quiero añadir un par de cosas. Cuando la encargada nos comentó que las mesas donde solicitamos sentarnos estaban reservadas para unos clientes en concreto, entonces respondí que cuando hiciera la próxima reserva solicitaría una mesa, pero me dijeron que no funcionan así... Entonces no entiendo cómo esas personas podían tener la mesa que habían solicitado con anterioridad. Se acercó a nosotras un chico de mediana edad de nacionalidad argentina preguntando que nos pasaba, le comentamos lo de la mesa, y nos ofreció una mesa más alejada de la costa, cosa que no aceptamos. De modo jocoso nos dice que disfrutemos de las vistas, y que más le gustaría a él poder estar sentado en una mesa asi, disfrutando de una comida en un lugar así... No entendimos a que vino ese comentario. Una de las mesas que pedimos, fue asignada a unas señoras extranjeras, y otra se quedó vacía. Considero que deberían cuidar un poquito más a los residentes. Dejando todo eso a un lado, a partir de ese momento, exceptuando el trato que nos dio un camarero de nacionalidad argentina bastante jovencito, debo decirles, que el trato recibido por el personal fue penoso. Atendieron a 3 mesas que llegaron después de nosotras, tuvimos que pedir las cartas, y una vez terminada la comida, nadie, absolutamente nadie, se acercó a retirar los platos, estuvimos con la paellera y los platos de la paella unos 25 minutos en la mesa, hasta que cansadas le pedimos la cuenta al chico argentino de mediana edad, que debo decir que pasaba y pasaba, pero en ningún momento nos preguntó si estaba todo bien... Nos trajo la cuenta y la dejó en la mesa sin mediar palabra, ni si queríamos café, postre, ni nada... En fin, lamentable el trato que recibimos, somos clientas de hace más de 4 años porque nos encantaba la paella de bacalao y berberechos que retiraron de su carta el año pasado, he celebrado cumpleaños allí, comidas, cuando viene familia o amigos de la península los llevo, pero después de lo del lunes no volveré.
