Beach near Can Picafort is the best around. Very warm water in August. You won't be cold. You can stay in water for how long do you like. People are bathing even at night (22:00 and later). There are baywatch stands with flags signalising if its safe or not. Beach doesn't have public toilets. If you're in the mood, you need to go to restaurants nearby. The sea safe area, shallow water, is very long. Very long. Perfect beach for families with kids or non swimmers. Muro beach is better near Can Picafort than near Alcudia. Every second or third day it looks like it's prepared for tourists with heavy technique. Although we didn't see tractors because we woke up usually after 8am. Don't rent sunbeds near restaurants. They are extremely overpriced and not worthy. On the other hand we didn't see person who would check those tourists using them.
What we really didn't like: cigarettes leftovers all over the place. Sand is littered with those. "Melon, banana, coco" guys shouting and trying to sell fruits. Many sea plants in August.
Sun umbrellas in shops near the beach cost 16 EUR. You can buy those for 10EUR if you negotiate price with beach sellers. They sell used umbrellas (but working...
Read moreLots of people here, even in the off-season time. The water is amazingly clean and full of fish and little crabs. We got waves the other day, but sometimes it is like a pond, not even the smallest movement. The beach is not too wide, and right after it you can find lots of markets, bistros and restaurants where you can grab a quick bite or a refreshment. There are lifeguards patrolling all the time and in a few spots you can find water showers to clean up the sand off your slippers. If you prefer you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas, but there is enough space for beach towels if you would rather enjoy the sand. And for those wondering if October is a good time to visit Mallorca I can tell you I've got my back sun burned in no time. The water temperature is around 24°C, while in the air it...
Read moreDecided staying in Can Picafort instead of Alcúdia, cos its beach is supposed to be less crowded. Now I got to know the reasons why it is less crowded compared to Alcúdia. The water by the beach is not clean at all! The dead and broken water plants are all over the beach. The water color is simply black!!! Very very disappointing! Had to take bus every day to Alcúdia, where has much much better beach! The sun shelter by the beach in Can Picafort costs double the price compared to the ones in Alcúdia. Why??? And much worse is the person we met who is in charge of of the sun shelter is really really rude and unfriendly... Will never come back to Can Picafort for travel...
