Restaurante La Balanza — Restaurant in Muros de Nalón

Yesterday Sunday we went into La Balanza at 1.30pm which is the official opening time. At the time we were the only customers inside the restaurant. When the waiter came up to us he asked us if we had a reservation. When we told him we didnt have a reservation, he said that the restaurant was fully booked out and that we would have to leave. We noticed that there were no reservation cards at any table and no indication that the restaurant was going to fill up. The waiter was very adamant that we must leave and there was no possibility of there being a table for us. Not wanting to argue with him, we left the restaurant. We know that under these circumstances a waiter should find a solution to this. It is simply not possible that the empty restaurant would quickly fill up with customers. The waiter should have found a solution here either by finding an unbooked table or suggesting that we can stay at a reserved table until the customer comes. The waiter made no attempt to find a table and just wanted to get us out of the restaurant. On a previous occasion, when we were at the restaurant we clearly heard him to referring to us as Los americanos` when speaking to another colleague. It is clear to us that this man does not like serving foreigners in that restaurant. We are quite shocked and very unhappy about what we experienced in La Balanza and we definitely would not recommend this restaurant to...

We took a detour off the Miradores path (Ruta de los Miradores) to eat here and were well looked after by the owner José and his team. Being Asturias we opted for the cider over wine and José had a great label “Viuda de Angelón” which was cool and refreshing. We opted for octopus (Pulpo A Feira) which is just boiled, sliced, and seasoned with coarse salt, olive oil, and sweet paprika, boiled Galician potatoes (Cachelos), small sweet scallops (Zamburiñas), typical Asturian fried monkfish chunks (Fritos de Pixín), and fried squid (Calamares) - all delicious. Would highly recommend this spot for this hearty, traditional seafood which was well prepared and well presented. Simple, clean, friendly and efficient. 👍

Excelente. Hemos comido de maravilla. No puedo destacar nada porque todo estaba riquísimo, desde el pincho que nos sirvieron al pedir las primeras bebidas hasta el café. El sitio (estuvimos en la terraza exterior) espectacular. Tranquilo y un lujo para la vista. Nos atendió Alejandro fabulosamente. Amable, atento, servicial y muy profesional. Cuando nos aconsejó acertó de pleno, como cuando pedimos una jarra de vino y nos recomendó media, para que no se nos calentará. Y sí, la medida era perfecta para los cinco. Siempre estuvo pendiente aunque no notábamos que estaba allí, pero siempre que lo necesitamos estaba disponible y sirvió todo perfectamente y con rapidez. Repetiremos y lo recomendamos mucho.

Excellent. We have eaten wonderfully. I can't highlight anything because everything was delicious, from the small sandwich they served us when we ordered our first drinks to the coffee. The site (we were on the outdoor terrace) spectacular. Quiet and a luxury for the eyes. Alejandro treated us fabulously. Friendly, attentive, helpful and very professional. When he advised us, he was right, like when we asked for a jug of wine and he recommended half, so it wouldn't get hot. And yes, the measure was perfect for the five of us. He was always attentive although we did not notice that he was there, but whenever we needed him he was available and served everything perfectly and quickly. We will repeat and highly recommend...
