Rincon del Sol — Restaurant in Nerja

Great location. Fantastic location. The few times I've been here now the service has been very mixed. Last week I was being told that "all squid and octopus should be rubbery and this was normal". Yes, this blew my mind also. The lone waiter working on 14 March was rude and more wrong than I've ever heard a waiter be. "It's normal to be rubbery"? Anyway, they gave our large table free croquettes that were cold. My burger should have been pink but it wasn't. The replacement burger was then served rare and with a slice of goats cheese thicker than the undercooked burger. The goats cheese is an awful addition to this dish as it dominates everything. Having left 70% of my meal, the waiter didn't give a hoot or even question what was wrong. Nice sauvignon blanc. Lovely view over the quiet end of the beach. Rincón del Sol offers a modern beachside interior and a diverse menu, which creates an appealing atmosphere. However, there is significant room for improvement in the food quality. The gambas al pil pil could benefit from more seasoning, and the sea bream papillot was overly sweet and had some bones that detracted from the experience. The grilled squid was undercooked. There was also a large amount of flies, a common problem for beachside eateries but easily solved with anti fly candles in every table. Pretty good beachside Restaurant, nice views of the Beach and Sea. Service is in the whole not bad, though when we asked for a Table near the front we were told by a miserable Waiter that the 4 or 5 tables were 'reserved' and he then directed us elsewhere 🫤 strangely we dined there for about 2hrs, nobody sat at the 4 or 5 'reserved tables'...🤔🫤 The food is pretty good, the Wagyu Beef Burger was very good, it also came with a huge piece of Cheese (a bit like Camembert 😎), Caesar Salad was good too. The Price was not too bad, I just wish the Waiters were a bit more 'customer focused' 😉 , that said, I'd still go back there...
