Playa & Sol Lounge Restaurant — Restaurant in Nerja

Thls is a bit of a mixed review. We have been visiting this restaurant for years and still think it is one of the best in Nerja. The food is great and the service very fast and friendly. It's just that on our last visit, my daughter in law found a fly, dead, in her wrap. Obviously very unpleasant but we recognise it's difficult in warm environment to avoid. What is disappointing is that we made no fuss but when asked how our meals were, we pointed it out. The reaction was poor. There was not even an apology. We did not want anything off the bill or complimentary drink, just an acknowledgement or any reaction. What was shocking was that we were pretty much ignored from that point with no offer of desert or even another drink. We got the bill and left feeling bitter and shocked. You might wonder why I have still given them 4 stars given this experience. This is because in the past they have been excellent and perhaps they were having a bad day. Wow. Probably the best food we've ever eaten. Totally perfect, and friendly, and seriously good value. Wish I could eat here every day. Really want to add more detail, because I just looked at some of the one star reviews. Firstly, to those, please check you were talking about the correct restaurant, because all the criticisms I saw, our experience was completely opposite, and I mean completely. We run a cafe restaurant in UK, and we were stunned af the quality, so much so, we went to see the chef, and shook the owners hand, who incidentally, just like the other staff, were fast attentive patient and truly friendly. The food was PERFECT, and I mean all of it. We expected the bill, (for Chateaubriand, plus a whole serving of extra veg, two home made deserts, plus a litre of Sangria), to be in excess of 100 euros. No.....it was just 89 euros. Unbelievable. The easiest 5 stars ever....

Very nice environment, with excellent service. At first I thought the food was a little bit to expensive, compared to the other restaurants near the beach. I thought the menu could be larger, but still nice things to choose from. When we got our drink I was in pleased that I didn’t get ice cubes for my water. We got our food after a reasonable amount of time. The food was delicious, and we even got extra food to share. After the meal we were pleased and full. The waiter then took our plates. But then we waited for a long time to get the bill, which was a let down. When we finally got the bill, they expected us to pay 43 euros in cash, which we didn’t have. We then waited some more before we asked a waiter if we could pay with card. This can be excused because it was a busy day for them. But all in all a very pleasant experience, and I highly...
